The daughter of the former Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom launched her highly publicised medical program on the 3rd of June 2023. Despite the downpour which occur in the early hours of the day, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi took her team of medical experts and volunteer workers to the community and sets up canopies and chairs to cater to residents, who enlisted to profit from the health-oriented scheme. From diabetes, Blood Pressure tests, to malaria and other medical treatments, the program gave residents sufficient aid, culminating with medical physicians on the ground to advise patients with complicated health issues. A dispensary point was also created to administer free drugs to beneficiaries, as residents applauded the laudable health scheme. Speaking to members of the Press who were present, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi described the program as a means for her to support communities in Lagos State. She explained that health is vital to the well-being of every individual, which made it paramount for her to tilt towards creating the community medics initiative. "This program will randomly touch selected communities around Lagos State, I only choose to start in Ikorodu because it's my base, and as you know, charity begins from home". "Most times, people are afraid to go to the hospital for a minor check-up which would give a remedy to their health challenges, they refuse because they believe it's expensive". "That is why am propelling this course as a form of a mobile clinic to reach neighbourhoods and cater to their numerous illnesses before it gets complicated," Princess Oyefusi said Tirimisyu Uthman, a youth corper, who resides in Selewu town lauded the organisers of the program. He cheered the orderliness and effective coordination of the health scheme, which he participated in along with his father. Communicating further, he said, "The process is fast and organisers are doing a very favourable job". "I've seen medical programs like this, and before you realize it, medical practitioners will start requesting money for some particular services, but here, I can say there is nothing of such, it is free from start to finish". "If this health program is run by a private individual then I must commend their efforts towards achieving this course" Uthman asserted Another resident, Mrs Ebi Johnson conveyed joy and thanked the organisers for bringing the health program to their community. Mrs Johnson, who explained the significance of the program to herself, said the program has assisted her in reducing the cost of going to the pharmacy to undergo tests and acquire drugs. She and her 10yr old daughter gained from the program. "With a program like this, we'll easily detect sickness in our body that we're not mindful of, and also prevent lingering illness from our body" She added. In all, over 300 residents benefited from the program.

ZEBRA CROSSING: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB CREATES SAFE CROSSING PATH FOR SHAMS-EL-DEEN SCHOOL STUDENTS IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria © eooekemmdmm3976505122441808413 Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, on the implementation of a Zebra crossing project for the school. The undertaking was completed by the club on the 2nd of June 2023, aimed at safeguarding students using the road subway during the school's morning and afternoon duration. Mrs Adedeji, impressed with the freewill task of the club, said the supportive job won a special place in her heart because it prioritises the safety of her pupils. According to the Principal, a safety program she had earlier attended, gave her the growing concern to assemble a similar project for the school (due to how motorists operate the road). She tells further, "I never knew how to make it happen, so it was a stuff of amazement watching the club coming out of the blue to get it done for our children". "With zebra crossing like this, it will make drivers careful in moving through this axis and keep our students safe as well". "I cannot thank members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club enough for what they've done to aid the school, but I know that my God will bless them tremendously" She asserted. Illustrating the essence of the project to the students and school officials (who came out collectively to inspect the work), Lion David Akinosho, Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, said Zebra crossing is a prudent footpath that serves as a caution to motorists. He continued, "The importance of this track is to assist students in traversing the road, and prevent drivers from steering recklessly". "Any driver who understands what driving is all about is meant to slow down immediately they set their sight on this Zebra crossing track". "It is a crime (and punishable offence) for motorists not to stop or decelerate, particularly when someone is utilising this route to cross the road," He said. Lion Akinosho further urged the students not to abuse the use of the pathway since they've comprehended its usage, adding that their manner of maintaining the walkway will make other road users do the same. He subsequently instructed the students to take the information given to them about the Zebra crossing to the rest of their classmates and even to their parents at home. READING ACTION PROJECT: IKORODU PECULIAR LIONS CLUB ENGAGES AYANGBUREN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, PROVIDE GIFT ITEMS TO BRIGHT STUDENTS ®™√ INN Nigeria © 393jnn3n3m1698184568465439829 Organised to access students' grammatical capacity, members of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club took their annual Literacy Project to Ayangburen Junior High School in Ikorodu. Dated 1st of June 2023, the 'Reading Action' program was put together to test learners on how to read and write effectively, and to upgrade their mode of articulation in English Language and Literature. Received by the school administration, ably led by its Principal, Mrs Fatokin Adetoun, the club was assembled with selected students of the school at the computer department, where the program took place. Lion Aderenle Adedoyin, who took charge of the program, explained to the students that their level of composure, use of grammar and manner of presentation is key to their learning advantage. According to her, "There are ways in which words are broken down into syllables, some words when stressed don't interpret their identity". "As students, you must work on your vowels and also do not rush your pronunciation methods," Lion Aderenle said. Essay writing titled 'My School' was assigned to the student as classwork, to further test their writing ability for 5 minutes. Subsequently, the students were given portions of their English Novels to read, which was also controlled by Lion Aderenle Adedoyin. After the basic Reading Action (Literacy) tests, Lion Aderenle Adedoyin appreciated the efforts made by all participating students, advising them to ripen on their academic performances. Furthermore, the Charter President of Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, Lion David Akinosho, on his part, told the students to understand that they're solely responsible for their success or failure in life, implying that despite their respective backgrounds, they can emerge movers and shakers of society in the future. He asserted that the pupils must make teachers their best friends, for them to learn more and prosper intellectually. Mrs Fatokin Adetoun, Principal of Ayangburen Junior High School, at the end of the program, appreciated the club for their support to enhance the intellectual capacity of the students. She also took part in presenting gift items to participating students afterwards.
