Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Contrary to popular belief, this day is not only for lovers, but for all those whom we love. Off course, Valentine’s Day is not the only day to share our love. Rather, it is yet another opportunity to let those whom we love know how much we love and appreciate them.

Igbogbo Students’ Union used this medium to show to their loved ones especially the elderly in the Oreta and Offin axis by sharing gifts to them as a love gesture from the Union to the elderly in the society.

Valentine is a period of love, and love must be shown to all our elders in the society and not our loved ones. Hence, it became a necessary for the union to take this measure by showing the love to the elderly in the society.

The Union also gave a very good gift to all it comrades as the Union finally beat it long term opponent in the football world. All thanks to the hat trick from the Union’s Sport Director Comr. Falodun Oyebola and Comr. Tomi Dankuwo which got the Union to beat The Heritage Movement 4-3 as the match finally ended in the 90th mins.

The Sport Director setting this first official record of thrashing this long undefeated was happy to be the man of the day and promises to deliver more.

The Welfare Director Comr Moyosoluwalorun Abraham said there was a need to change the normal narrative of Valentine is only celebrated amongst lovers i.e it’s actually a day to celebrate our loved ones.

The Union President Comr Clinton Adeniji said there was a need to share the gifts to the elders in the community as The Produce of these Elders is what is making us to exist. We need to show them love that they have indeed given birth to wonderful who will change the narrative of this country.

He said the football win was a show of our unrelenting efforts to bring back the ISU TEAM and uses this medium to announce to the entire populace that ISU EASTER GALA FOOTBALL FIESTA comes up April 1st 2021- April 4th 2021 tagged: The Game of Six

He also pleads with youths to be more understanding with the government and not be an everlasting critic of the government. The change we want will only come when we are constructive and not destructive!
