DG OF LAGOS STATE SPORTS COMMISSION, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN INSPECTS ITA ELEWA SPORTS CENTRE & IGBOGBO BAIYEKU STADIUM IN IKORODU ®™✓ INN Nigeria ©

Director General Of Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar Bolowotan and his sports Commission Executives on the 23rd of February 2021 paid an official visit to the Ita Elewa Sport Centre and also the Igbogbo Baiyeku Stadium In Ikorodu.

The Inspection came barely a day after the Sport Commission Board was reconstituted with a mandate to make Lagos State The Sports Hub not only in Nigeria but Africa in General.

The Sport complex which is also know as a Youth Centre at Ita Elewa Ikorodu is currently been upgraded and expanded to become a state of the Art Sporting Centre as part of the Lagos State Government’s plans to Constantly engage the youths across the state through Sport.

According to the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr Sola Aiyepeku, The upgrade is meant for sporting activities to grow and possess bigger leverage in Ikorodu and Lagos State.

“The idea is about creating more space in the Arena to chip in varieties of Sporting Activities, Not just for football, but also for Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis and others” Mr Sola Aiyepeku

“Building a stadium in this Era requires thinking futuristically, And on our part we are looking at Sustainable Structures with quality facilities that will reduce cost of maintanability”

“We Want alot of youths to have access to this medium eventually, It is on this note I will like to Appreciate Hon Babajimi Benson MHR (Representating Ikorodu Federal Constituency) for investing into this industry, He is a leader who has the mind of the youth at heart” Mr Sola Aiyepeku Added

The DG Averred that the expansion plans will create more rooms for harnessing Talents and supporting the gradual growth process of Sport Orientated individuals across board.

“This Administration is working extensively to ensure that our youths are rigorously Engaged through Sport. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic most of our implementations are not yet felt, But thank God a vaccine has been approved and the Covid-Era is on it’s way out” Gafaar Bolowotan

“From Ita Elewa Sport Centre to Igbogbo Baiyeku Stadium, The adjustments we are making as we project this upgrade will enhance productivity and efficiency in Ikorodu as far as sports is concern”
