
Igbogbo Platinum Leo Club In Conjunction With Reri Old Students Association Organised A Seminar/Workshop for senior students of Reri Senior Grammer School Oreta in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA Of Ikorodu On the 26th of February 2021.
Themed ‘Eradicating The Prevalence Forms Of Sexual And Gender Based Violence A Key Factor For Peace And Community Development’ the seminar was aimed at building the mindset of the students (male & female) against Sexual & Gender related abuse or Violence of all sought.
With Speakers from Virgin Pride Foundation, Millicent Foundation and Save A Girl Foundation respectively, The students were Orientated and given platform for consistent counselling to upgrade their understanding and insights as regards creating palatable Relationship without hindering the focus to Actualising their dreams and aspirations in life.
It took off with Mrs Nkechi Cecilia Odebiyi (CEO Virgin Pride Foundation) taken the pupils on ‘Keeping The Label On, No Wedding No Sex’.
“Taking Contraceptive Pills Is Simply Telling Your Body That You Don’t Want To Get Pregnant, And When It Is Time For You To Get Pregnant There Is A High Tendency That You Won’t Due To The Accruals Of Pills Taken Already. So Abstain From Sex Totally If You’re Not Due For Marriage” Mrs Nkechi Cecilia
“Never copy someone or try to be like someone, because God has created you for a purpose which must make you focus in life. God doesn’t check your Identity to bless you, Whatever you decide to study in school or your career must go In-line with your personality”

Miss Abdul Adesola from Millicent Foundation Followed up the teaching with the Topic ‘Sex Education’ As She Enlightened the pupils on staying focus with their respective life goals.
“At the age of 19-20 some girls are getting pregnant while others are actually going for their masters degree.
It is your duty to understand the kind of people you confide in if you want to live a successful life. You cannot seek counsel from someone who’s not walking on the right path in life” Abdul Adesola
“Often times our parents & elder ones refuse or I will say don’t go deeper on sex education and this has lead to misunderstanding what to do and what not to do”
“Sex education is high quality teaching and learning about a broad variety of topics related to sex and sexuality, exploring values and beliefs about those topics and gaining the skills that are needed to navigate relationships and manage one’s own sexual health“
“Gone are those days when we where told that when a man touches you alone you will be pregnant. When Talking about sex education this important points should be talked about;
“Human Development (including reproduction, puberty, body image, sexual orientation, and gender identity). Relationships (including families, friendships, romantic relationships and dating). Personal Skills (including communication, negotiation, and decision-making). Sexual Behaviour (including abstinence and sexuality throughout life). Sexual Health (including sexually transmitted diseases, contraception, and pregnancy). Society and Culture (including gender roles, diversity, and sexuality in the media)” Abdul Adesola Added
Miss Comfort Olafare (Initiator Of Save A Girl Foundation) took the seminar to a different level of Campaign as she Engaged the Students on ‘Gender Discrimination and Rape’
“If You’re the type that always like to ask for money or gifts from your male friends, Please know that not all givers have Positive intentions. Some are giving to get something in return, And If you don’t return the favour it might lead to rape which has been the case alot of times. All am saying is be contented with what you have per time and avoid been Covetous” Comfort Olafare

- Lack Of Access To Education
- Inferiority Complex/Low Self-esteem
- Employment Inequality/Job Segregation
- Lack Of Political Representation
- Racism
The Causes of Rape can also be reflected in defaults of the following;
- Peer group/pressure
- Bad parenting
- Low Self-Esteem
- Covetousness
- Indecency
- Absence of conscience
- Lack of Fear of God
Leo Victor Edwin-Cole (President Of The Igbogbo Platinum Leo Club) in his closing remarks thanked the students for given the program their undivided attention and Admonished them to adhere to every bit of counseling delivered by each speaker and a study book was issued to all the students present.
He further Appreciated the school Administration for making available the pupils to be impacted.
