FA VICTORY ELEPE TRASHED UNIZEE FC IMOTA TO CLINCH THE 12TH EDITION OF THE GAFAAR BOLOWOTAN GOLD CUP IN IKORODU ®™✓ INN Nigeria ©

It was a finale of emotions and victory at the Igbogbo Police Barracks (Stadium) in Ikorodu as the director general of lagos state sports commission (Oluwatoyin Bolowotan Gafaar) organised the 12th edition of its foundation gold cup in affiliation with the Ikorodu Division Football Association on the 28th of february 2021.

Football fans and sport lovers across Ikorodu assembled at the stadium to witness the final match between FA Victory (ELEPE) and Unizee FC (IMOTA) which kicked off at 4pm with guests and dignitaries from within and outside Ikorodu division.

Present at the finale was the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Fadhilat Sheikh Seifudeen Ayinla Olowooribi, Alhaji Lukman Sonibare (IDFA Chairman), Alhaji Ogunmuyiwa Jimoh and offcourse the DG of the Lagos State Sports Commission (Oluwatoyin Gafaar Bolowotan).

With Bond FM and Tungba FM as the official Radio Stations Relaying The Competition, The commentary section showcased Ace Presenter Segun Akpata, Fine Boy Umoh, Alasalatu-Ijebu Commentary and AY Flow thrilling the spectators on both half of the game consecutively.

The game ended with full scores seeing FA Victory ELEPE beating Unizee FC IMOTA Three goals to One (3-1) and claiming the first price of the epic competition.

With plans to support grassroot sports the competition saw the winner cashing in the sum of 200,000 (to FA Victory ELEPE), second price of 150,000 (Unizee FC IMOTA) and 3rd price of a 100,000 (to TCCG FC {OMOMAJEMU Boys}). respectively.

The game referee was Hon Ogunmuyiwa, Presenting the medals; Bronze – Alhaji Abiodun Adeoye, Silver – Alhaji Kola Akinsanya and Gold – Hon Sulaimon Ola.

Highest Goal Scorer; Faniyan Ojijiola with 4 goals, Best Goal Keeper; Akinola Taiye (Ayomaposi S.A), and the most valuable Player was Warris Lawal (ABlaze).

Speaking after the game and price presentation, The Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Fadhilat Sheikh Seifudeen Ayinla Olowooribi told reporters that he was very impressed with the level of talents displayed at this year’s competition, stating that with it Consistency more young talents would be discovered in Ikorodu.

“It is very encouraging for me to see young talents like this in full Display. I am actually very impressed that I have offered to adopt two players from the 3rd place teams. Am also looking at the possibility of inviting the best team to come over to the island to play my team” Alhaji Ogunmuyiwa Jimoh

“This competition is just another way Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s Administration is supporting the grassroots via Sports. We have Empowered the youths today by supporting them with approximately 600,000 naira cash gifts and exposing them to opportunities that will further help elevate their football Career” Oluwatoyin Gafaar Bolowotan

The game was also used to pay special tribute to Late Chief Debo Ogunade, A Sport lover and Supporter.
