As part of the commitment by the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) to make its service platform more endearing and accessible to
intending trainee drivers across the State, the Institute conducted an onsite mandatory training for 144 members of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Towing Vehicle Owners Association (NTVOA) at lkorodu.

Addressing the participants, the General Manager of the Institute, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, who was represented by the Director Training, Mrs. Adeola Ajayi, explained that the onsite training was an approved arrangement designed by the Institute to take the training to some designated parks and garages for the yearly mandatory training and recertification exercise.

The General Manager added that the mandatory training exercise is very
important for trainee drivers as they will be exposed and reminded of all the basic rules and regulations that govern safe driving and the consequences of not strictly adhering to them.

“We can only be referred to as professional drivers when we successfully move our vehicle from one point to another without
accident or causing any road impediments. Therefore, we have to be conversant with all the rules and regulations in operations across the State so as not to be on the other side of the law”, she said.

She encouraged the drivers to visit any of the Institute’s designated centres and annexes spread across the State for more comprehensive training.

While appreciating the State Government and the General Manager, the Lagos State Chairman of the Association, Mr. Christopher Opone Okeimute, revealed that the existing working and cordial relationship that the association has developed with the Institute facilitated the onsite training arrangement.

The Chairman enjoined all the participants to make use of this opportunity to update their driving skills and put all they have been
taught into good use for their own benefit and safety.
