In a media parley organised by the executive chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA Bldr Sesan Daini on the 12th of April 2021, The Chairman unveiled his Performances in his 1,358 days of stewardship in office.

Media Organisations from within and outside Ikorodu Division converged at the meeting room of the new Secretariat of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA as Bldr Sesan Daini took out time to lay out his contributions in diverse areas to propel the LCDA to greater heights, simultaneously creating room for questions and answers to quench all lingering taste of his effectiveness as the Executive chairman of the region.

“This media parley is an opportunity to answer to our real masters – our people, clarify our approach to governance, our developmental priorities and the overall impact of our tenure in the lives of our people since July 2017 till date Despite the meager resources at our disposal, we have touched every strata of the society resulting in improved socio-economic development of our people” Bldr Sesan Daini

“Let me begin this account of stewardship with graces to God for his infinite mercy endureth forever. It is by His Will that the good people of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA overwhelmingly voted for me and here we are, 1358days into the lifespan of our 4-year mandate and social contract with our people. I thank our political leaders, traditional institution and community leaders, whose unflinching support, guidance and cooperation cannot be over-emphasized“

SECURITY; (1) Construction of 63 Squadron base of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA (2) Inauguration of the LNSC officers (3) Presentation of security vehicles to Igbogbo police station (4) Inauguration of Security Local Joint Table Force (5) Inauguration and provision of power Bike and walkie-talkie for Local Joint task force (6) Placement of 50 security officers on monthly salaries

EDUCATION; (1) Total Reconstruction of Lajo Primary School Block of seven (7) classrooms into an ultra-modern learning outfit (2) Facilitation of the one block of 8-classroom by Hon. Jimi Benson at Ibeshe Primary School (3) Construction of perimeter fence for Baiyeku Primary School, Methodist Primary School, LG Primary  School, Igbe Laara (4) Presentation of free G.C.E forms and JAMB forms to Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA indigenes (5) Organised Spelling Bee Quiz competition at the council secretariat (6) Distribution of learning materials to Primary school pupils as part of the efforts at accentuating the SDG 4. (7) Payment of Bursary awards to 100 students in 2018, 2019 (8) Award of Scholarships to five(5) Students: Secondary school (Two (2) students), Tertiary institution (Three (3) Students) (9) Presentation of Deep Freezer to the Lagos State Girl’s Junior model College, Agunfoye, Igbogbo

HEALTH; (1) Global Diabetes walk and free diabetes screening and community awareness (2) Breast Cancer Awareness programme by Comrade Daini in conjunction with Heart wells group and WABIO foundation (3) Flagoff of health initiative for rural dwellers in conjunction with National Youth Service Corps and Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA (4) Flag-off of measles vaccination campaign at Ibeshe Public Health Centre (5) FREE EYE CARE SERVICES in conjunction with EYE FOUNDATION HOSPITAL (6) Facilitation of a new PHC at Majoda Ibeshe By Hon. Jimi Benson (7) Commissioning of block of maternity wards at Bayeku Primary Health Centre

ENVIRONMENT; (1) Construction of Wire fence at Ojota bus/stop as a palliative measure to Avert tragedy and refuse dumping by the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA (2) Environmental Sanitation Exercise on cleaning of identified black spot by the Executive Chairman “Keep Igbogbo/Bayeku Clean or Leave” (3) Campaign against hawkers to vacate road side to avert the regular gridlock at Igbogbo (4) Distribution of relief materials to flood victims at Esteem CDA Unity Estate, Igbogbo (5) Sensitilization and creating of awareness on waste refuse management and inauguration of environmental sanitation committee (6) Dredging  of Canals in Igbogbo, Ibeshe, Selewu, and Agunfoye

INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT; (1) Commissioning/Opening of U.B.A ATM cash centre gallery by Comrade Olusesan Daini on 22nd September, 2017 (2) Flag–off construction of road drainage and street light at oliwo amoju – Olayinka Moshood Hassan Street (3) Commissioning/Opening of Sterling Bank a new generation bank in Igbogbo (4) Construction of administrative block and presentation of official vehicles to the legislators (5) Construction of ultra modern Kaniyi Owode market Igbogbo (6) Opening and Grading of market street to alternate parking of commercial vehicles (7) Construction of magistrate court inside the IBLCDA premises funded by Odofin of IKORODU.

WELFARISM; (1) Prompt Payment of Salaries, (2) Uninterrupted Payment of Staff Bonuses, first of its kind in the history of IBLCDA, (3) Presentation of official vehicles to the legislators (4) supervisors and traditional rulers (5) Presentation of stipends/grants to the aged and traders (6) Structured Training Programme for eligible officers (7) Distribution of Covid19 Relief Materials to various communities and groups.

YOUTH/WOMEN EMPOWEMENT; (1) Miss Adeboruwa Beauty Pageant Sponsorship (2) Skills acquisition programmes for youth in tailoring, styling etc (3) Sponsorship of youth empowerment during Igbogbo Day

REVENUE DRIVE; (1) Inauguration of the revenue committee for Igbogbo/Bayieku LCDA (2) Tagging and branding of Revenue team Presenation of two(2) new branded Revenue buses

At the height of the briefing, the chairman opened a Session for questions and answers in order to engage every Practitioners present including Representatives from; Students Union, National Youth Parliament, Impact Newspaper, OriwuSun Newspaper, Ijoba Radio, IKD FM 106.1, Mega Expression Newspaper, Lagos Television (LTV), CDA Chairman amongst others present.

Excerpts From the Chairman’s Response to Questions from Stakeholders present at the Media Parley;

Tourism: “We actually started plans to Structure out a Beachfront in Baiyeku, But due to the scale of projects we harbour per calendar, it has stalled our Progress. Be rest assured today that soonest we shall be sending experts to do an oversight landscape survey in that space And also process the basic requirements needed inorder for the Beach to be activated in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA”

Education: “In the next 30days, We shall ensure every Registered Students in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA Recieve their Bursary Settlement. We are also working currently to partner with the university of Lagos (Unilag) on engaging our youths in an Empowernment Program, We are sure that very soon this partnership will yield results”

Information Dissemination: “It is better to be late than never, We ought to have ensured fervently in carrying the good people of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA along by creating extensive channels to update everyone on what we have done and our Accomplishments Overtime. But Note from henceforth that we shall be Consistent on this measure and even to those inhabitants whom are not always online or not digitally oriented, We will also create a channel to communicate even in Yoruba to our people frequently.

Health: “During the Commissioning of our new Secretariat last month, We brought the Attention of the Lagos State Governor (Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu) into the need of having a Mini General Hospital in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA to reduce the overwhelming patients frequenting the Ikorodu General Hospital. I believe that area has been carefully Acknowledged and will be looked into because we would actually need the state’s support to realise a reasonable capacity health centre in Igbogbo Baiyeku”

Market: “When we came in, We met a 33 dilapidated locked up shops with 44 Sections, But we have invested in the market and facelifted it presently to 200 locked up shops with almost 100 Sections Plus motorable space for parks and double exit points for commuters”

Security: “We Have Gotten Approval To Open Police Station In Both Elepe & Agunfoye Community In Order To Strengthen Our Security System & Combat Every Menaces. We Have Also Provided ‘Walkie Talkie’ For All Our Joint Task Force (JTF) Which Is Key To Enhance Speedy Solutions To Security Challenges (keeping Them Together Electronically). The ‘Walkie Talkie’ Device We Have Provided Doesn’t Only Help Our Security Personnels In Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, But Also Across Ikorodu Division”

“Also On The Issue Of Insecurities, It Must Be Noted That It Actually Takes A Wilful Governance Or A Zealous Administration (In Gov. Sanwo-Olu & The Lagos State House Of Assembly) To Get The Resolve We Have Today As Regards The Stiff Punishment (Which No Other State In Nigeria Has Done) Against Any Arrested Cultists & Even Those Abating It. But Now We Must Know That These Cultists Actually Lives Around Us, But They’re Not Been Reported Until They Get Out Of Hand. Since The Government Has Played It’s Part To Make A Law Punishing Them, We As People Must Not Hide Them From The Law Out Of Fear, It’s A Collective Responsibilities If We Must Eradicate This Level Of Insecurity”
