As the Potentials (Ikorodu Elevate) gears towards it’s grand finale, The Organising committee of the epic event paid a honorary visit to the number one traditional ruler in Ikorodu Division (Oba kabiru Adewale Shotobi) The Ayangburen Of Ikorodu Kingdom on the 15th of April 2021.
The Team ably led by the Coordinator of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN) Ikorodu Local Government Chapter Comrade Idris Omotayo was warmly received by His Royal Majesty at his palace.
Presenting the intent of the visit, Comrade Idris Omotayo Officially brought the Attention of ‘The Potentials’ (Ikorodu Elevate) to the listening audience of the Paramount Ruler, Highlighting the major goals and objectives of the event which has spanned over a month in Ikorodu harnessing talents from Entertainment and Sports respectively.
Recieving the Organisers, The Ayangburen Appreciated the Idea in excitement by applauding the team for Projecting a course, Which is conceptualize to Elevate Ikorodu Talents through Entertainment and sports, He also pledged full support towards the Grand Finale of the epic competition, Stating that the tournament is a step at the right direction to discover untapped Potentials in Ikorodu Division.
“As we are working together to calm the storm of every social vices, Our Youths must be very creative for more opportunities to come into Ikorodu and with ideas like this, More creative minds would be discovered” Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi
“We Are Planning Currently To Support Alot Of Ikorodu Youths in the Area Of Agriculture, But That Not Withstanding, We Shall Also Empower Our Young Ones In The Entertainment & Sports Sector”
“I will harbour part of the Financial burden to secure the venue of the Grand Finale at Ikorodu Town Hall, But note that if I am not able to attend, My Council Chiefs will be fully Representating my capacity at the Event” Oba kabiru Adewale Shotobi Added
The Team Coordinator thanked the Paramount Ruler for his support, Prayers and endorsement, Pledging to live up to expectations going forward as the one of a kind event hits it’s crescendo.
On the later, The Team was also received briefly by the Executive Chairman Of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adesina at the Secretariat of Ikorodu LG. The Chairman also pledged his support towards the Grand Finale of ‘The Potentials’ 2021 requesting a follow debrief from the organising committee subsequently.
