The Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club International joined Lions clubs across the globe to celebrate the protection of the environment on Monday 26th April, 2021 at the Lagos State Primary Health Centre, Odonla, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The club members came out early in their Lions activity jackets to celebrate the environment protection by donating a Mobile Waste Bin to energize the efficiency of waste management in the health facility, which will enhance sustainable hygiene and habitable environment to the visitors, patients, health workers, etc.

Also, In the quest to contribute to the protection of the ozone layer and the environment at large, various globally recommended species of trees were planted in the compound of the health centre to sustain it and add to aesthetical value of the environment.

The Club President Lion Esan Adefunke NLCF charged the management of the Health Centre to judiciously utilise the waste bin and monitor the growth of the trees, as the club will be coming on periodic basis to inspect them.

The Chief Matron Mrs Asakin Florence Bosede Titilayo, on behalf of Lagos State Government and the entire management of the Centre appreciated the club’s generous spirits and kind gesture to find them worthy to benefit in such an enviable projects. The representative further thanked all members of the club for their selfless services to humanity.
