In what could be summed up as a monumental Accomplishments in bringing entertainment to Ikorodu Division once again, The Potentials Ikorodu Elevate Grand Finale lived up to every expectations.

The show which took place at Ikorodu Town hall saw Dignitaries and celebrities alike making the youth and talent driven event more memorable.

It featured as usual music performances, Dance and traditional drama Presentation from varieties of artist within Ikorodu Division including Yewa drama group, FOP Drama group, Taazee, Boluwatife amongst others.

As the finalists were segmented into Dance, Music and Drama so also was their respective judges i.e. QDot to judge Musicians, Mrs Ugo Ubiayo Ademoye to Judge Dancers & Yomi Fabiyi to judge Dramatist.

It ended with Taazee emerging winner in the music category, KOG Dancers for Choreography & Yewa Drama Group.

Music winners were given gift items and assured free duets with Nigeria Superstars PatoRanking & QDot plus free management deals. 4 winners from drama category were gifted with items assured by Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi to feature in a new Nollywood movie which would kick off on June 2nd 2021.

According to the Nollywood actor ‘The Potentials’ (Ikorodu Elevate) is considered the biggest Local Government Entertainment Event he has seen in a long time in Nigeria.

“I want to applaud the National Youth Council Of Nigeria Ikorodu Local Government Chapter for putting together such a ground breaking event for talents across every Communities in Ikorodu, It means there is hope for more creative acts to emerge from Ikorodu” Yomi Fabiyi

“If this continue it means Ikorodu would eventually become the forefront for talent discoveries in Lagos State, I am amazed at the different displays of Talent and it reflects Notting but Positive projections, Congratulations to Ikorodu” Yomi Fabiyi Added

Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo Current Chairman Elect Of Ikorodu Oga Development Association IKODASS lauded the show while simultaneously affirming his support on diverse levels.

“There is Notting we can’t achieve if we put our minds into it, Just like I told the Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi, Supporting Ikorodu talents is supporting us as well, So we will support with open arms every goodwill Intentions onbehalf of every talents within Ikorodu Division”

“The Potentials is a project for Ikorodu and I believe we are just getting started” Mr. Rotimi Erogbogbo Added

“This will open more doors to make Ikorodu an entertainment epicenter in Lagos State and as the Chairman of the Guild of Nigerian Dance Practitioners in Lagos State, I am embracing Ikorodu dancers with open arms, we have Officially Declared our interest in nurturing and breeding Ikorodu talents through our Association and soon most of our programs will come to fruition within Ikorodu Division” Mrs Ugo Ubiayo Ademoye

“As one of Ikorodu Biggest export I am proud to be apart of this event, As we must give back the opportunities that has been given to us on our way to the top” Qdot

In his remarks to cap the event, Coordinator NYCN Ikorodu Local Government Chapter Comrade Idris Omotayo Appreciated all Dignitaries and celebrities that graced the grand finale stating the sacrifice put in place to make the show a Reality.

“This entire event is 3 months in the making as we have through rigorous planning combine sports and entertainment to harness talents across Ikorodu Division. But we are grateful to God today it has reached it’s crescendo” Idris Omotayo

“I want to use this medium to thank all our supporters and partners that helped this project in finance and products, Together we have made history and Ikorodu will not forget”

“For every Talents that will not emerge victorious today, It doesn’t mean you have failed, In our talents we’re all winners and more opportunities awaits our resilient drive to make our dreams come true” Idris Omotayo Asserted

At the High point of the event, The State chairman of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Comrade Lekan Billiamin Oba presented an award of selfless service and passion for youth development to the executive chairman of Ikorodu local government Hon Wasiu Adesina.

“I have used my Administration over the years to engage our youths in different areas to foster growth and development in Ikorodu local government, And I must thank the Organisers of this event for creating more opportunities for our talents in Ikorodu” Hon Wasiu Adesina

“My message is simple, Our youths must always grab every Opportunities coming to them which will make them result into a tool for Positive societal transformation and not yield to any form of social vices. The future hides in the Activities and Engagement of your today so ensure to fully utilise your Potentials when given the opportunity”

“We will always support youth orientation events like this, knowing fully well the positive impact it will bring to Ikorodu” Hon Wasiu Adesina Added

Other Dignitaries Awarded at the event includes; Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo (Current Chairman Elect Of Ikorodu Oga Development Association IKODASS, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru Immediate Past Chairman Ikorodu Oga Development Association IKODASS, Coordinating Members of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria Ikorodu Local Government Chapter/Event Planning Committee, QDot, Yomi Fabiyi, Mrs Ugo Ubiayo Ademoye amongst others.

Other personalities present at the event; Iyaoloja Ikorodu Division, PepC, Ten-11, Hon Omolara Awolesi, Akewi Yinke Ikare, Wadesh Babes, Coordinators National Youth Council Of Nigeria Ikorodu Division, Shotomiwa Wasiu Babatunde, Wave Media, Egbe Ogbogeniyi, Sholanke Lateef Arizona (Ikorodu Ambassadors Group), Comrade Samson Bisiriyu (Executive Director, Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative IDYI) amongst others.

Sports athletes that Participated in the Competition and emerged victorious were also gifted and accosted by Comrade Saliu Babatunde
