
On the 9th of June 2021, Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissioned the Ijede Road (Itamaga to Ewu Elepe), Phase 1 in Ikorodu Local Government.
The road construction contract was awarded to the Arab contractors in January 2020 But was delayed due to the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic.
With an estimated Road length of 6.05km, a Carriageway Width (Dual) of 14.6m, Surfacing with Interlocking stones, Pavement Marking and Kerb painting, Provision of Streetlights, Construction of Drainage and Culverts the road has now seen a complete makeover for both commuters and residents alike across the region.
The Rehabilitation of the Ijede Road (Phase 1) into a Dual Carriageway will:
- Improve road connectivity.
- Increase socio-economic activities
- Reduced travel time.
- Enhance Intermodal Transportation Services
- Eliminate perennial flooding.
- Enhance Property Values and Socio-economic well-being of the people.
Completion of the road in a swift approach by the Arab contractors has seen Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Administration received a lot of praises (from stakeholders) in his projection to aid adequate growth and development across Ikorodu Division.
