LASG SELECTS CCECC-CRCCIG CONSORTIUM AS PREFERRED BIDDER FOR FOURTH MAINLAND BRIDGE PROJECT ®™√ INN Nigeria © fb img 1672429715269343367135480725142 The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Public-Private Partnerships, today announced Messrs CCECC-CRCCIG CONSORTIUM as the preferred bidder for the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge project, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Private Partnerships, Mr Ope George, who disclosed this during a briefing at the PPP Office in Ikeja, said the Fourth Mainland Bridge (4MB) Project, which is a proposed Public Private Partnership (PPP) transport infrastructure development, will comprise of the construction and operation of a greenfield tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120km/h, including the development of adjacent real estates. He added that the Bridge, when completed, would become the second longest in Africa with three toll plazas, nine interchanges, a 4.5km Lagoon Bridge and an eco-friendly environment. It is also expected to span about 37kilometres, starting from Abraham Adesanya in Ajah, on the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe corridor and traverse the North West towards the Lagoon shoreline of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway via Owutu/Isawo in Ikorodu. In his words, “You will recall that the Lagos State Government commenced a Competitive Bidding process for the selection of a Concessionaire, by the issuance of the Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) on 27th of November, 2019. A total of 52 responses were received with 32 being responsive”. “Subsequently, a Request for Quotation (RFQ) was issued on 10th February 2020 to the 32 eligible applicants and responses were received on 15th April 2020 with a total of 15 responses. Upon evaluation, six bidders met the criteria to progress to the Request for Proposal (RfP) stage”, he added. George explained that the Bids have now been evaluated and Messrs. CCECC-CRCCIG Consortium emerged as the preferred bidder while the Messrs. MOTA-ENGIL (NIGERIA &AFRICA), CCCC & CRBC CONSORTIUM, as the reserved bidder for the Fourth Mainland Bridge project. The Special Adviser restated that the Bridge will reduce congestion on the existing Carter, Eko and Third Mainland Bridges while opening new areas of the City for future developments.

SENATOR TOKUNBO ABIRU VISITS FASHOLA: GETS GREENLIGHT TO KICKOFF REHABILITATION OF 32-KM IKORODU-ITOIKIN ROAD IN  JANUARY 2023; & COMPLETION OF 30-KM IKORODU-SAGAMU ROAD img 20221208 wa00017241587120880206490 The Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN at his office in Mabushi, Abuja to show appreciation for his efforts on two critical Federal roads : Ikorodu- Itoikin Road and Ikorodu/ Sagamu Road. During the courtesy call, the #DoingGood Senator extended the gratitude of Constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District to the minister for his support and efforts on the planned rehabilitation of 32-Km Ikorodu-Itoikin Road and the accelerated work on Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, which is almost completed. The Honourable Minister specifically informed the Senator that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) had approved complete rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Itoikin Road. Fashola assured Senator Abiru that the total rehabilitation of the road will commence in January, 2023. Meanwhile, critical sections of the 30-Km Ikorodu/Sagamu road, from; Sabo,Okegbegun, First Gate, Odogunyan, Ita-Oluwo, Ogijo, Gbaga, Sotubo, Mosimmi to Gbara Village have been fixed, remaining less than 8 Kilometre to get to Sagamu. The Honourable Minister assured Senator Abiru that the road would be completed before the end of President Muhammadu Buhari administration. These milestones were made possible through the instrumentality of legislative intervention via a motion moved by Senator Abiru, “On The Urgent Need For The Rehabilitation Of The Ikorodu-Sagamu And Ikorodu-Itoikin- Epe Roads To Further Bridge The Infrastructure Gap And Enhance Economic Growth In Nigeria” in April 2021. Senator Abiru convinced the Senate by highlighting the importance of the two roads to the nation’s economic growth as they serve as access points from other parts of the country: Ogun, Edo and the Northern parts of the country and also routes to New Lekki- Ibeju corridor where we have a major refinery, Lagos Deep Seaport and Free Trade Zone etc. The motion was fully supported and approved by the Nigerian Senate, and thereafter obtained the cooperation and support of the Ministry of Works and Housing, particularly, the Honourable minister, His Excellency, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN. Before Senator Abiru’s intervention, Ikorodu- Sagamu road, which was awarded on 5th June, 2018 to Messrs Arab Contractors O.A.O. Nigeria Limited , with a completion period of 36 months only attained 24.04% completion due to paucity of funding. However, the current intervention by the Senator, has ensured the advancement of the 30-km Road to about 85% completion.

Jimi Benson, who had earlier promised the community to facilitate its 3.3km road construction, showed up to make good on his pledge, signalling the official commencement of the project. The flag-off program which was also attended by the chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Bldr Adeola Adebisi Banjo, Chairman of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr Sesan Daini, APC Party Chairman Ikorodu LGA, Hon Tijiani Animashaun, APC Ikorodu Constituency 1 Candidate for the Lagos State House Of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, and other distinguished stakeholders, has amassed huge applause due to its massive stretch and equal propensities to enhance the standard of living in the neighbourhood. Though not too pleased with the turnout of dwellers to observe the iconic project takeoff, the national lawgiver substantiated that the project would be completed by the end of the first quarter in 2023. According to Jimi Benson, he had met with the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a week before the project flag-off, to keep him in the loop of the undertaking, expanding that the Governor is fully aware of the operation. He continued, "For residents also clamouring for the provision of transformers to leverage on this development, they should rest assured that plans are in place to provide such as we proceed". On the project duration, He said, "All things been equal, and with the cooperation of residents, we're looking at completing this project by ending March 2023 because the full payment to execute the project is on the ground". "We've done record projects like this before in other parts of Ikorodu division, and this will not be exceptional as long the people support the designated contractors in making the work progressive" "You know, I earlier expressed my dissatisfaction with the low turnout of residents, but that notwithstanding, we'll go ahead to get the job done for the people" Jimi Benson added Enlarging that he'll be functioning together with the council chairman and house of assembly candidate representing constituency 1 to bring the course to reality, the federal legislator further stated that the road project will also be accompanied by street lights to aid safe movement at night time. "It's electioneering season, and we've always noticed that the participation of residents in Eruwen community is low, that is why we're provoking improvement to them, so they can react positively to effective governance" He concluded The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Bldr Adeola Adebisi Banjo, pleaded with Hon. Jimi Benson on the low turnout of residents, declaring that the contributions of the federal lawmaker to his axis are never taken with levity. Bldr Banjo, explaining that with all the numerous projects sitting on the desk of the Ikorodu House Of Rep Member, prioritising Eruwen road construction is a kind gesture that will only attract more growth to the community. Banjo continued, "We're working with the CDAs to strategically post banners around the community, notifying people that construction is ongoing, and I can assure our MHR that the council will ensure adequate compliance from residents to speed up the completion of the project". "I'll also like to compliment our MHR on the delivery of 4 transformers to accompany this project, residents should be comfort assured that it will be done". Prince Adeniron Ogunbanwo, CDC chairperson supported the council chairman, assuring the federal lawmaker of active compliance by residents. Hon. Tijani Animashaun, APC chairman Ikorodu LGA, lauded JB, as he's fondly referred, commending his numerous efforts to develop the waterbed region in general. Hon. Tijani stated that though he contested against Jimi Benson during his first run for the house of representatives back then, he's now convinced that Jimi Benson is truly the man for the job. He concluded by enjoining residents in Eruwen town to come out en mass and support the re-election bid of the federal lawmaker, asserting that good governance would be felt more in the community if JB returns. Before the road inspection by Jimi Benson, the lawmaker also took out time to specially decorate a LAWMA officer (Mrs Joseph M.), who was present at the event. Hon. Olakanmi Tijani, Councillor representing ward E2 in Ikorodu north LCDA (under which the project is positioned) lauded Jimi Benson for bringing quality representation to the community, assuring the federal lawmaker of his ward support towards his re-election.

‘IT’S MY RE-ELECTION GIFT’, SANWO-OLU SAYS AS HE INAUGURATES NEWLY-UPGRADED OBA SEKUMADE ROAD IN IKORODU ®™√ INN Nigeria © 3939k3k3knem8294525662510498491 Inauguration of the newly-upgraded Oba Sekumade Road in Ipakodo, Ikorodu Division, on Friday, moved the residents into spontaneous jubilation in a show of appreciation to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for fulfilling his pledge. Sanwo-Olu commissioned the infrastructure, which now provides easy access to residential and industrial areas in Ibeshe, Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Ebute Ipakodo, Ikorodu town and Ipakodo Mega Jetty Terminal. The Governor also rehabilitated the failed sections of T.O.S Benson Road, covering a stretch of 500 metres. To ease vehicular congestion on the T.O.S Benson Road, a comprehensive junction improvement project was carried out by the State Government to diffuse traffic towards Ikorodu Roundabout. Commuters’ experience on Oba Sekumade Road was harrowing, given its deplorable conditions. This prompted the Government to list the 2.5-kilometre single-lane roadway in the State’s strategic emergency road rehabilitation programme and was awarded for comprehensive upgrading and expansion, using Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP). The intervention saw the busy road upgraded from a single-lane to rigid concrete dual carriageway, thereby improving connectivity and bringing relief to commuting public plying the route. The road was the first major infrastructure project to be inaugurated by the Governor after he won his re-election two weeks ago. Sanwo-Olu described the commissioning as a “thank you” gift for the electorate in Ikorodu Division for turning out the second largest vote number that made his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), to win the last gubernatorial election. He said: “Today, we have come back to Ikorodu Division to show our appreciation and say big ‘Thank You’ to Ikorodu residents for keeping faith with our Government. This town has been good to our party with its outstanding voters’ support during elections. What else can we do to demonstrate our appreciation other than to come to this important base of Lagos heritage and hand over a gift of infrastructure that will bring huge benefits to the people. “The commissioning of Oba Sekumade Road and the rehabilitation of T.O.S Benson Road point to another demonstration of what purposeful governance is all about. These projects reflect our commitment to delivering dividends of democracy and ensuring that development touches every nook and cranny of Lagos. These projects are strategic to strengthen various interventions initiated to improve traffic management on this axis. The hardship being experienced by drivers has been resolved, as we have enhanced connectivity and reduced journey time.” Sanwo-Olu said the Ikorodu Division would further reap more infrastructure benefits during his second term, stressing that the State Government had gotten the assurance of contractors to accelerate construction work on other infrastructure projects being constructed in the area. The Governor particularly mentioned the ongoing construction of Agric-Isawo Road, which the contractor had pushed to 60 per cent completion. He pledged there would be an improvement in the pace of work on the Ewu Elepe-Gberigbe Road, Igbogbo-Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road and Adamo-Agunfoye Road construction. He also charged Lagos State Public Works Corporation to race up the work on Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road to improve connectivity within the axis. Sanwo-Olu said the traffic interchange being developed at Ita Elewa Roundabout will change the transportation landscape of Ikorodu when completed. The project, currently at 55 per cent completion, will open a new BRT corridor within Ikorodu. He said: “What we are about is ensuring that the next four years come with bigger dividends delivered faster than we have done in our first tenure. There will be accelerated development across the city in the next dispensation. Ikorodu is part of the Greater Lagos that is rising. “In the next couple of months, we will be doing groundbreaking for the Fourth Mainland Bridge, which will cut across major sections on Sagamu-Ikorodu Expressway before finally opening to Lagos Ibadan Expressway. We are committed to delivering this project in our second term to completely open Ikorodu to the world.” Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye said the upgrade of Oba Sekumade Road to a rigid pavement dual carriageway did not only solve traffic problems experienced on the highway but also solved flooding issues threatening adjoining residential communities. She said the State Government’s insistence on sustainable infrastructure, adequate drainage channels, and quality lighting facilities on the road underscored the Sanwo-Olu administration's commitment to high standards. “I believe that with the rehabilitation and upgrade of this road, the challenge of flooding and inadequate capacity will now become a thing of the past. This in turn will also translate into the improved free flow of traffic and a much-needed reduction in travel time for the business owners in the area and the motoring public at large,” she said. The Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Bashiru Shotonwa, described the development as ”historic”, noting that the road remained significant for the socio-economic development of Ikorodu. The traditional ruler said the road condition worsened due to the influx of manufacturing companies and residential development, which mounted pressure on its usage. “Mr Governor, by fulfilling your promise to us today, you have written your name in gold in the history of Ipakodo. We will continue to remember your name for good,” Oba Shotonwa said. The member representing Ikorodu II in the House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, said the huge votes turned out from Ikorodu were to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture towards renewing infrastructure in the town. The lawmaker said the rehabilitation of TOS Benson Road was the icing on the cake, as it was not part of the original project. “These roads have brought huge relief to commuters on this axis and we can now say goodbye to flooding of our streets,” Agunbiade said.

Mudashiru Obasa and other lawmakers-elect received their Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday promising to ensure a greater Lagos at the 10th Assembly. "On behalf of my colleagues, we will continue to build on the success of the current Assembly when we resume for the 10th Assembly. We want to assure Lagosians that we will continue to make laws and pass motions and resolutions that will bring progress to Lagos and protect the interests of residents. "That's the assurance that I have from the 39 other members-elect," Dr Obasa told journalists at the event which had Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat in attendance. A total of 38 lawmakers-elect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and two from the opposition received their Certificate of Return. The Speaker thanked his constituents in Agege and Lagosians for their support for the APC. "I thank my people in Agege for their consistency, loyalty and support at all times. And to Lagosians, we say thank you. At least APC has 38 lawmakers-elect out of the 40 for the House of Assembly. We have three senatorial seats and a whole lot in the House of Representatives. We are very happy about this and have reasons to thank Lagosians. "We are going to support the Governor in his assignments to bring growth and progress to Lagos State as well as protect the lives and property of our people.
