Realers Initiative made their presence felt at the heart of Ikorodu Division on the 12th of August 2021, as the world marks international youth day.
The initiative took its walk of orientation campaign through Ikorodu town hall en route ayangburens palace down to the first gate axis of Lagos state polytechnic (LASPOTECH) at sagamu road Ikorodu with placards indicating signs ‘Say No to Drug Abuse’, ‘Say No To Cultism’, ‘Say No To Cyber Crimes’ etc.
Converging at the (LASPOTECH) 500 seater hall in the later, Realers Initiative took participating students through a 3hrs session of orientation and empowerment.
In his address, Mr Mike Ibikunle (Co-convener, Realers Initiative) extended his profound appreciation to Sen. Tokunbo Abiru (Lagos East Senatorial District), HRM Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi (Ayangburen of Ikorodu kingdom) and Chief Host, Dr. Oluremi N. Olaleye (Rector, Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu).

“This walk and summit is meant to draw everyone’s attention to a set of cultural, developmental and legal issues surrounding youth. The first of its kind was observed on the 12th of August 2000. The International Youth Day is always observed annually throughout the world and it does create opportunities for the government, development agencies and other concerned organisation to draw attention to youth issues worldwide”
“Majorly on this day, concerts, workshops, cultural events, meetings involving National and Local Government officials and youth organisations do take place around the world, just Like the concept of this youth summit organised by Realers Initiatives which has brought every one of Realers Initiatives to the lives of the children, teens and youths with the need to drive and also empower them with the ability to create lasting positive changes in their own lives and their respective communities”

goals our focus. •To build a strong relationship with organisations, group(s), and individual that we share entrepreneurship. •To generate in young people, a sense of responsibility and ownership of actions needed for common vision with. •To give helping hands and create opportunities for the less privilege to have a dream/ building a great Nation. •To campaign against social vices and sensitise the societies with its effect on their future support them in making their dreams achievable. •To provide for the youth an economic and social empowerment through training/capacity and that of the Nation at large. •To support feminine (i.e women) in achieving their dreams and also sensitise them over building and awareness campaigns on their roles in Nation Building”
“This youth summit tagged: Digital Age (a minacious impact) feature lots of educating, informative and empowering sessions which is squarely focused on curbing social vices such as cyber-crime, rape, alcoholism, kidnapping, cultism and drug abuse which has become the song of the day in the name of civilization, socialisation, advancement of technology and western world influences. At the height of the summit Mrs Odebiyi N.C from Virgins Pride Foundation admonished students on Character improvement and focusing on a defined career path void of immoralities.
“Most times, Character takes you to places your certificate will not, this is why as students you must be of good character as you grow in your study to become the best at what you do”
“The kind of friends you also associate with matters a lot, Having the wrong set of friends will tarnish your destiny, So you must be careful and also don’t be afraid to walk/work alone in fulfilling your dream” Mrs Odebiyi Asserted
Mr Peter Adenibuyan, an international certified addiction professional and clinical social worker orientated the youths to abstain from different forms of abusing their lifespan and lifestyle.
“Smoking, drinking alcohol and abusing drugs doesn’t only devalue ones reputation, it also ruins focus. It has actually played crucial part in long-term depression, failing health and career failures. It starts like a mere leisure but ends up in addiction to a lot of youths today”
Other guests in attendance; Mr Enitan Olukotun (Special Adviser to Senator Tokunbo Abiru on media), Mr Arigbagbu spoke on Youths and Digital devices to stimulate the economy for productive growth (in capacity of the Rector Lagos State polytechnic, Dr Oluremi Olaleye Nurudeen) and Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo (Chairman Ikorodu Oga Development Association IKODASS).
