On the 21st of August 2021, members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints converged at LASTMA office, Sagamu road in Ikorodu, officially kicking off their nationwide service projects.

With aim to assist the government on areas of sanitation & creating a decent and conducive environment for all, members of the religious body from Imota, Itamaga, Ikorodu, ketu, gberigbe and Igbogbo unified themselves, extensively cleaning a large portion of the secretariat to the excitement of LASTMA officials.

While some cleared bushes and raked the dirt and debris, others were with brooms sweeping the tarred section of the vicinity as the religious brethren came out en mass to clean up the different routes of the secretariat.

Speaking to INN, Mr Ayo Ajibola (The Project Supervisor in Ikorodu) averred the budget free project is also simultaneously holding in (Mowe Market) Mowe-Ibafo and (Ajimo fillings station) Akute axis making their presence felt across Lagos state.

“This project is about love, normally as Christians, Peoples perception wouldn’t expect us executing a project of this nature within the religious confines, but that’s not what we’re about, the body of Christ entails all human beings dwelling in every facet of the world”

“We choose to clean up this LASTMA office because they are also reciprocally serving us through the traffic control services they discharge daily, which helps reduce the gridlock we experience on our roads. They do it for everyone without any exceptions. As long as you drive a car, they assist in directing you“

“We’re using this project to assist the government in our little way and it is free. It is annual and we have also spoken with the officials present to continue in this fashion to maintain this form of cleanliness”

“Our appreciation goes to all our seven-unit branches across Ikorodu division that deemed it fit to come out today in their numbers to help this course. Just like Jesus Christ served humanity before he went to be with his father in heaven, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will always continue to serve humanity, shining our light and making the world a better place” Mr Ayo Ajibola Asserted
