As the Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) indoor youth championship game comes to its crescendo, stars have emerged in all stretched games to improving the mindset of the young lads.

The competition started on the 7th of September and features games like chess, Scrabble, snooker both for the males and females category respectively.

Aiming to intellectually carve-out niche for future generational stars across Ikorodu division, the IKODASS indoor youth championship games organising committee which is presided over by its chairman (Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo) elongated the 3-day activities to provide room for eligible brilliant minds to participate in their game of choice.

Below are the emerged winners from the respective games played;

Chess game winners: Male category; Afolabi Emmanuel (1st), Victor Nwankwo (2nd), Jamiu Ninilowo (3rd). Female Category; Chinonso Mary (1st), Ogbonna Confidence (2nd) and Everestus Joy (3rd)

Scrabble game winners: Male category; Soaga Mayowa (1st) Giwa Oluwaseyi (2nd), Ogbonna Michael (3rd), Female category; Miss Adisa Emmanuella (1st), Miss Peju Akinyemi Goodness (`2nd)

Snooker game winners: Adeyemi David (1st), Agboje Charles (2nd) and Tella Olabisi (3rd). The snooker tournament was held at the Snooker room of the Eroz Place, Borokinni Aga in Ikorodu.

The series of games played were also supervised and coordinated by Mr Rufai Abolade Carmil (Chief Umpire for the Snooker game), Mr Animahun (IKODASS executive member), Alhaji Luqman Shonibare (Chairman, Local Organising Committee), Mr Ademola Ogunleye (member, Lagos State Scrabble & Monopoly Association), Mr Wale Oyeneye (Chief Arbiter for the Chess tournament) and Mr Kunle Adelabu (Chief Media Aid for IKODASS)

Cash prizes to be awarded to winners on the 9th of September (at Ikorodu TownHall) range from N50,000 for the 1st prize, N30,000 for 2nd position and 20,000 for third-placed players respectively.

In the chairman’s remark towards the success of the games played, “We’re doing this as part of our annual event to engage the young minds and reshape their approach on ways to discover themselves and aspire to become great in life beyond the negative proxy influence they encounter”

“Organising creative and mind puzzling games like this will not only improve their mindsets positively but also it will enhance their aspirations to become better persons in society at large”

“We appreciate the parents for making their children available for these events because the success of the respective games would not have been possible if not for them allowing their children to partake in it. For us, these activities will be annual to keep discovering talents and putting them on the right track towards greatness.
