IKORODU DIAMOND LIONS CLUB CLEARS DRAINAGE AT ALLISON ROAD, IKORODU GARAGE WITH SUPPORT FROM PSP ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

With the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) warning of the high possibility of flash floods occurring nationwide in the next few days, and also avoid flash flood events on the roads, settlements, farmlands and markets that could be more pronounced within our community.

Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club embark on a 3-day radical clearing of drainage and roads at Ikorodu garage, Allison road, roundabout and surroundings.

The 3 hours cleaning exercise each day was executed with Jokotex Nigeria Company, a Private waste Operator popularly known as PSP (Private Sector Participation).

Market women willingly joined in cleaning the market and road, placing the waste in the vehicle supplied by the PSP. They commented that the exercise was the first of its kind.

Representatives of the market women pleaded for more cleaning exercises of such at the market to encourage cleanings in our environment to avoid infections and disease outbreaks.

The Club President, Lion Roseline Ogunlana in her response advised the general public to make use of the waste bin at the appropriate place and stop littering the environment in order not to have drainage blocked.

She also encouraged the market women to always make use of the public toilet around and stop open defecation which can cause diarrhea and some other diseases.
