As schools resume across Lagos state, barely 3 weeks into the cash prize support made by Late Oba Adewamiri Ayokunlehin Olaide memorial Scholarship scheme and Prince Kayode Olaide scholarship to pupils of Keme Balogun junior and senior college in Ibeshe axis of Igbogbo baiyeku LCDA, Senator Seye Ogunlewe made real his promise to the school on the 14th of September 2021.

The students and teachers were all in excitement to see senior pupils gifted with smartphones (to officially kick off the mathematics club) and other educational items such as T-Squares, Textbooks, Drawing boards Etc.

Ogodo Chukwudi Moses, Iyiade Boluwatife Israel, Iyiade Oluwaloni Emmanuel, Taofeek Mariam Olukemi, Paul Rosemary Precious (all from Keme balogun senior college Ibeshe) were gifted with smartphones while the other items were presented to the school administrators to be distributed to both junior and senior arm of the college respectively.

In their speech of overwhelming joy and gratitude, Mrs Kazeem D. (Principal Keme Balogun Junior College) & Mr Adedeji Olusegun Adelaja (VP Keme Balogun Senior College) thanked Prince Kayode Olaide for facilitating a positive course that attracted more blessings and supplies to the college. They also lauded Senator Seye Ogunlewe for his fervent support towards the growth and development of the educational system in the institution.

Representating Senator Seye Ogunlewe, Alhaji Odutan Qudus stated that the support scheme is meant to be continuous for schools across Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.

“We’re presenting educational materials to students of the junior and senior secondary arms of Keme Balogun College based on the promise made by our honourable senator when he came here 3 weeks ago to honour Late Oba Adewamiri Ayokunlehin Olaide Memorial Scholarship Scheme & Prince Kayode Olaide Scholarship Program

“Whenever we discover that the students are in need, we will ensure to support them. It means this is not a one time or annual scheme, it will be continuous also culminating with the fact that teachers from both arms will also get Laptops from us soon” Alhaji Odutan Qudus asserted

“This kind of support helps our children to improve their performances and enhance their academic practices. Every students should take this scheme as a motivation to stay focus on their studies and never be distracted by any means. We appreciate our senator for his continuous support and unending passion for education” Chief Karimot Ojikutu (Iyalode Of Igbogbo land)

Speaking to INN after the presentation Prince Kayode Olaide (A Prince In Ibeshe Land & former student of Keme Balogun College) averred on the essence of the support program which is meant to give back to the community.

“Remember, during our scholarship program earlier before school resumption, the senator (in his positively felt presence) promised to also support the school with these educational items. Today, he has made good his promise, so the official presentation is been carried out to help the students grow academically”

“It is assistance like this that makes the world go round, in giving back the students will also remember to do the needful when they become leaders of tomorrow. The mathematics club is also kicking off, so the smartphones that was gifted to the senior students will aid them to advance their studies and grow intellectually” Prince Kayode Olaide Added

The support did not end there as the Senator, also took a keen interest in further assisting Miss Caroline Omolola Oluwadamilare, an outstanding alumni student from Keme Balogun senior college who just rounded up her bachelor’s degree course in accounting at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

Receiving the father of Omolola Caroline at the presentation program, the Senator through Alhaji Qudus Odutan vouched to support the young scholar to further her academic endeavours in every way necessary for her to have a standout pedigree in Nigeria as a whole.

Caroline Omolara came out with the best WAEC result in west Africa in 2016 as a student of Keme Balogun college.

Other special guests in attendance at the presentation program includes; Chief Karimot Ojikutu (Iyalode Of Igbogbo land), Prince Kehinde Ogunpaimo, Hon Yinka Ogunlaja, Princess Jemilat Olaide, Prince Hakeem Awosanya, Mr Leke Shoberu and Mrs Tolulope Olaide
