Members of the Zeedars Elite Club visited Ologijo’s palace of Ogijo in Sagamu local government area on the 7th of October 2021, to put smiles on the faces of widows around the vicinity as a measure of service to humanity.

Received warmly by Chief A.O Lawal (Olisa Of Ogijo), accompanied by Otunba Alijo Kamorudeen, Otunba Bamgbelu (Odofin Of Ogijoland), the Adegorushe of Ogijoland and Baba Muhammad (DPO of Ogijoland), more than 120 widows also converged at the local council as the club engaged everyone present on the essence of longevity.

The project chairperson Hon Ahmed Ajayi while welcoming everyone, explained how the club started, the club’s membership strength, he also made it clear that Zeedars Elite Club is a non-political club that has nothing to do with any political party.

Lion (Com.) Adefunke Oluranti Esan (special guest speaker for the program admonished the widows and elderly to stay fit and keep a healthy lifestyle to promote wellness.

“No matter what we go through as widows, we should never allow the circumstances of life to overshadow our true purpose. We must learn to hang on and stay fit not only for ourselves but also for our children who are pressing to become great in life”

“As a widow, there is a Grief stage that cannot be erased forever in the heart, the Growth stage is where widows comport themselves and move on with their lives, and the Grace stage is the final stage where every widow should be praying for everlasting joy and happiness”

“As a widow myself, I’ve learnt to overcome every form of the downturn that comes my way, Believing the best is yet to come and looking at the bright future of my children, I keep working hard to elevate my spirit and live healthily. It is a personal responsibility that goes beyond whatever support the club will be dishing out today”

“Nothing can be compared to putting smiles in the faces of our mothers that is why at the point Let me thank Otunba Layode Azeez (Chairman of Zeedars Elite Club), Hon Taofeek Adejare, Hon Ahmed Ajayi, Hon Taiwo Ogunlana, Hon Olusoga Odunukan, Hon Segun Mayaleke, Hon Tolulope Abudu, Hon Jimoh Bello, Hon Adewunmi Sarafa, Hon Afolabi Soyubo, Hon Nurudeen Oyebayi, Hon Oyeleke Ademola, Hon Okeowo Mudashiru, Hon Lukmon Oshiba, Hon Bamgbose Oluwaseun, Hon Oguntemilehin Segun, Hon Taofeek Owoyemi, Hon Awojobi Olaifa and Hon Yusuf Saubana, I must say that you all have done marvellously well in reaching out to the widows and because you’ve done this, you will never lack” Lion Adefunke Esan Added

Four infrared thermometers were donated to Afisuru Primary Health Care Centre. The PHCC’s matron Mrs Hassan G.E thanked the leadership of the club for finding her centre worthy to benefit from this laudable initiative, she then encouraged the widows to make use of the lecture they heard.

“Understanding that the role of parents is not to be taken lightly at any given point in time. Our health is paramount, that is the ultimate guide to a sustainable future. Our biggest support comes from God, while he uses man to propel us. I want to appreciate the chairman of Zeeders Elite club, God will continue to provide for you as you have decided to reach out to the widows” Mrs Hassan G.E (Matron Ogijo Primary health centre)

The Ologijo of Ogijo Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi who was ably represented by the Lisa of Ogijo High Chief Lawal S. O. appreciated the club for the kind gesture, he delivered the goodwill message, while ogijo DPO also appreciated the club for thinking outside the box to give back to the widows, he emphasised the club members’ enthusiastic spirit and encouraged them to continue serving humanity.

“It is the first time support of this kind is happening in Ogijo, so we laud the Zeeders Elite club for successfully carrying out this support scheme to lift the spirit of widows in our community and I pray that the next time they come around to assist us, they will exceed this level of support made today” Adegorushe Of Ogijoland

After 124 Participating Widows were reached out to with food supplies (presented by High Chief Lawal), Beneficiaries praised the initiative and pleaded for the club to stay fervent in reaching out to the widows mostly especially in the Ogijo area.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Arobieke. A.O sincerely thanked the club leadership for bringing this kind of project for the widows, she said haven’t spent over 30 years in ogijo, she has never heard of or attended such a project within the community. She then implored the club and the chiefs to keep doing this type of project most especially by bringing a motivational speaker to talk to the widow because she has gained a lot from the lecture delivered by the guest speaker which elevated her spirit.

Others in attendance were; High Chief S. O. Lawal (Lisa of Ogijo), Chief Mulikatu Alimi (Iyalode of Ogijo),  Supo Johnson, Alhaji Alase, Lion Shobowale Babatunde President of Ikorodu Metro Lions Club, Lion Tunji Oredipe past Region Chairperson.
