Students and administrators in Methodist primary school and Ansar Ud Deen Primary school in Igbogbo baiyeku LCDA were filled with utmost joy and excitement as Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko graced both institutions on the 18th of October 2021 for purpose of empowerment.

Princess Adetutu, councillor in the local community development area representing ward C1 surprised pupils of both schools with 100 pairs of uniforms in a bid to assist young scholars to further enhance their academic practices.

The educational empowerment program which commenced at the early hours of monday, kicked off at Methodist primary school and ended at Ansar Ud Deen primary school with teachers and administrators lauding the commitment and dedication of the councillor to supporting her ward.

“Sometime ago, I came to these schools to engage the students on becoming better learners, and afterwards I promised to come back with a surprise package for them which will spur them to grow academically”

“Today, I fulfilled that promise by supporting students whose uniforms are torn and worn out of shape with brand new ones, to put smiles on not just their faces, but gladness and relief in the heart of their parents whom are somewhere working hard to make ends meet for the family”

“I made 100 uniforms, but distributed 50 per schools to the students, which as you can see was handled and well coordinated by both school administrators. Not only I am impressed with their hospitality, am also happy at their show of appreciation which will make any soft hearted leader commit his/herself more in lifting up their spirit from time to time”

“In the process, I reiterated my formal point of engagement with the pupils, which has to do with the need for them to be bold and speak out whenever their environment is hostile and not conducive due to strange occurrences. We’re in a sensitive times and so our children must be clearly informed to be on the look out at all times, with easy channels to pass message across to parents or guidance”

“What I accomplished today is actually part of my focus point agenda as a councillor in my ward (to save money out of my salary) and help the grassroots in every way necessary, I’ll continue to stay in touch with them as I discharge my duties” Princess Adetutu Banjoko Asserted
