The courtesy visit which occurred on the 23rd of October 2021, saw members and management of oshodi arts gallery (ably led by its CEO, Dr Oshodi Paul) paying an honorary visit to the paramount ruler of Egbin royal kingdom in Ikorodu.

(All delegate) Warmly received by His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeoriyomi Oluwasesan Abdul-Akeem Oyebo, (Ademoyebo 11), Obateru of Egbin Royal Kingdom were given a royal styled tour through the aged palace of the king and also the modern yet to be completed masterclass palace of the monarch facing the island waterways.

Featuring a cultural dance troupe from the art gallery plus a special honorary royal portrait presentation, the king reacted in utmost joy and excitement, applauding the 2nd largest art collection centre in Africa for living up to expectations, creating channels for more futuristic relationship after acquiring an art painting.

“Their coordination and presentation are professional and powerful, I never expected such a well put together outfit would be based here in Ikorodu. I long to witness another special dance performance from their troupe

“As an art practitioner myself, I understand the value embedded in this sector and cannot believe the number of art works I saw previously when I toured the gallery. It is a sight to behold and I really commend the organisation for boarding a state of the art piece at the gallery, I am inspired” Oba Abdul-Akeem Oyebo added

Dr Oshodi Paul thanked the paramount ruler for his warm reception and expression of praise towards the gallery’s kind gesture visit.

“We never expected the king to receive us in such a soothing manner, the environment was very conducive and everyone was very friendly and helpful to us. Most outlook of the king’s new palace towering the sea is an amazing sight to behold”

“We’re gazing at infusing artworks to some strategic areas in the new palace configuration, which will modify the castle into a tourist attraction. It is a thing of beauty that we have this wonderful structure herein Ikorodu”

“You cannot visit a king without presenting something spectacular. The royal portrait we presented to his royal majesty is our way of showing him a preference for his earlier visit and fostering a better relationship” Dr Oshodi Paul affirmed
