IKORODU OGA DAY 30TH CELEBRATION: ABIKE DABIRI, BASORUN ROTINWA BAGGED ACHIEVERS AWARD, AYANGBUREN LAUDS EROGBOGBO AT ROYAL BANQUET ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

An epoch banquet for class and royalty was the order of the day at Ikorodu ultra-modern town hall on the 14th of November 2021, as Ikorodu oga day 30th celebration hosted prominent personalities and paramount crania in a royal banquet ceremony.

Coming in a day after the festive flag off, the banquet was set in motion with a core value of Honesty, Transparency, Accountability, Resourcefulness, Cultural, Propagation Unity Of Progress, Efficiency, Equity and Credibility

Gazing to continuously improve, promote, encourage, support and work with other community-based organisations to create gainful and productive economic activities geared towards development within Ikorodu and its environment, the event is focused on the fruition of a prosperous Ikorodu community through technological/cultural advancement aimed at making Ikorodu a centre of economic/ cultural splendour and also a pride to all citizens of the community.

With the Oba Kabir adewale shotobi (ayangburen of Ikorodu) as chief host, the banquet also spearheads the presentation of the achiever’s award to a few selected Ikorodu indigenous difference-maker plus the official book launch of the life and times of Chief B.O Benson, climaxing a memorable event.

According to Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Ikorodu Oga development association (IKODASS) is made up of its Executive Committee and the over 300 registered clubs and organisations.

“This year’s Royal Banquet is unique in more ways than one as you will not only enjoy Ikorodu hospitality at its nicest but will equally experience two unforgettable events. It is meant to celebrate Ikorodu royalty reflecting the passion of our Ayangburen and also encouraging leaders to reach for the stars”

“Which are the release of a seminal book on the humongous life of late Chief B.O. Benson and the conferment of Achievers Award on four illustrious individuals who have left their prints in sands of time”

“At this junction I want everyone to know that proceeds from this book goes to the IKODASS scholarship scheme to support all our educational programs” Rotimi Erogbogbo added

Receiving the prestigious achiever’s award for the ceremony were; Asiwaju Steve Anifowose (President, Ikorodu descendants in Washington), Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa (CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Alhaji Babatunde Rotinwa (Chairman Ikorodu division resource development group (IDRDG) and Mr Fatai Oluwole (Former Member, Lagos State Judicial Service Commission).

Dr David Sunmoni in the book (compiled by Prof. Bawa Allah and published by IKODASS) review inferred that the subject is poised to commemorate the life of Chief B.O Benson and provoke the younger generation to strive for greatness in their numerous field and industry.

From an in-depth layout, this book indicates setting the velocity as projected by Sir B.O Benson as a template for others to achieve different strides in life”

“Part one of the publication is all about his family while part two showcases his silhouette, functioning experiences and mission boost. Part three elucidates his attainments and part four reveals his annual lectures, Part five centres on his competent mastery, part six saddles Legal Issues which is earmarked to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), part seven displays his life reflections, Part eight is the conclusion while part nine is simply a benediction (demonstrating the spiritual nature of Sir Benson)”

Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu kingdom in his latter remarks thanked IKODASS for setting the pace in a unique banquet-style delivery.
