District 404A1 of the International lions club had a historic trajectory on the 21st of November 2021, as Lion Princess Adebukolah Adefolayiga evolves charter president of Ikorodu pioneer virtual lions club, received warmly by volunteer members and leaders of the service-based association.
The club, which intent is mostly targetted at providing welfare services to the underprivileged and susceptible individuals in the community converged members at the Oluwatoyin activity centre, ushering in its new leadership and enlisting calendar service projects for years 2021-2022
With friends, families and associates present, the ceremony not only saw the installation of Lion Adebukolah Adefolayiga as charter president, but it also featured the installation of other club officers to further strengthen the current administration
In her opening remarks lion, Dr Bola Sogbesan states, ” Princess Adebukolah Adefolayiga as Charter President of Ikorodu pioneer virtual lions club is extraordinary, she is a daughter and sister to many, and the installation of other Club officers as a formidable group will boost her in achieving her aims and objectives for the office and the Club at large”
“The past year, owing to the pandemic, you will agree with me, was fraught with a lot of
social, economic, corporate and individual shortcomings in different ways and proportions, but we have all evolved alive and full of hope for a better future”
“I expect that we’ll all amass in the advancement of this formidable club by supporting our President and the club as a whole, which will aid our numerous Community projects positvely as we forge ahead with this new leadership” Dr Bola Sogbesan Added
In accepting her role as the new charter president of Ikorodu pioneer virtual lions club, Lion Princess Adebukolah Adefolayiga expressed gratitude to her predecessors, asserting her commitment to providing results in service undertakings
“I want to thank all Lion Leaders and my family members that stood at one point or the other as a Guiding path through my 8 years of service since advent through my transfer of membership-primarily the relief me to be a portion of the Charter process of this great club that has come to stay”
“We are a cause-specific lions club with a chosen part to feed the needy in Ikorodu and its environs by looking into the community and identifying needs. In the past months, we have embarked on projects such as Training nursing mothers on how to feed infants plus our Frequent visits to various orphanages to cloth and feed them”
“For our legacy project, we intend to provide a permanent food bank where we can continuously feed and cloth the underprivileged. We hope, by the grace of God and the collective generosity of all our supporters, we’ll start the project to finish even as we join other Lions Clubs to partake in vision, Diabetes, Environment, Youth Programmes and others every year”
“We have a part in caring for the blind, also the underprivileged, that’s why I want to assure the club and all our backers that all funds will be judiciously applied in the execution of the stated projects” Lion Adebukolah Adefolayiga further expanded
Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, Director general of iCare Foundation also graced the event as a guest speaker.
