As the merry season hits Ikorodu local government, Council chairman (Hon Wasiu Adesina) is not hindering on his plans to rejuvenate both the educational and infrastructural sectors of the LG, prompting an oversight inspection tour on the 6th of December 2021
Escorted by his council-manager and entire council warden, Hon Adesina with agendas to promote a beneficial and conducive learning environment for students of the academic institution (salvation army school), evaluated its dilapidated axis, promising the school administrators a swift renovation by the first quarter of 2022
Reacting to his intended plans to renovate the school, Hon Wasiu Adesina enunciates, “Salvation Army primary school is one of the most important institutions in Ikorodu, which has been in existence for over 40yrs, pinnacling with its location at the heart of Ikorodu local government“
“Peeking at the school facility, most of it is ragged, at some juncture while striding through Sabo boulevard I discerned that the layout is impoverished and requires renovation, with a need for the local government to go and distil a modification oversight for the landmark institution also monitored by Mrs Memud Temilade (head Of the school) & Executive Secretary”
“It is noticeable that most of its roofing layers are off and the evidence we huddled is that at some point they plunge on pupils while receiving classes. This is why I have instructed my council manager to work towards taking down the bad layers and refurbish the structure between now and the first quarter of 2022”
The council boss wasted no moment with his team, subsequently moving away from the school towards agura-gberigbe road for an outlook inspection with plans to cash in on the dry season, proffering the road a facelift upgrade for motorists.
According to the chairman, “The road is clamouring for a crucial State construction intervention, though we have already gotten assurance from (His Excellency) Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration to execute it soon. But (in the meantime) the local government is about to implement a soft road palliative work to make the area more accessible for motorists”
“Beginning from Thursday 9th of December, we shall commence the palliative road work on Gberigbe, Igbodu, AP and the Onefold axis of the community” Hon Adesina disclosed
“The CDA’s of this area are taking it upon themselves to work on roads, which to the local government is not appropriate, so we’re seizing charge to provide the neighbourhood sufficient backing they require to assist their housing configuration and business locales”
The council boss concluded by thanking residents in the area for their forbearance, urging them to hold with the current administration as plans are on the way to developing the road channels.
“Eventually, when the State comes in to kick off their edifice, it will be a fresh project described in relation to the Itamaga-Elepe road undertaking, displaying a complete transformation to agura-gberigbe road”
“The governor has assured me, it won’t be long for them to begin their construction, that’s why I crave to relish the good people of agura-gberigbe community for their patience while also yearning their continuous calm for us to work together and make the road usable again” Hon Wasiu Adesina asserted
