Week-long old student association (set 91/92) of Shams El deen grammar school crescendo at the kings banquet hall, itokin axis of Ikorodu on the 18th of December 2021
The fashion mode ceremony saw Old Members of the association huddled to rekindle cradle camaraderie dressed in similar attire, exchanging pleasantries and reliving memories
Guest speaker, barrister S.O.K shillings committing justice to the topic; Role of Alumni interactions in enhancing the quality of pedagogy, the entire audience were admonished on the essence of obliging to community improvement in the course of fulfilling professional and career expectations
In his remarks, Hon Ibrahim Olayinka Majekodunmi (chairman SGS 91/92 sets Alumni Association) stated, “The beauty of this reunion pedagogymonise old students that have left one another for so many years after graduating from school reflecting on the good old days of togetherness in innocence, uncorrupted, oblivious to mature sentiments, and bonded by unconditional love despite originating from diverse backgrounds”
“Celebrating the 30th anniversary of passing out from this School conveyed to us the need to design critical developmental plans to aid our communities which made us who we’re today”
“As we celebrate this 30 years Reunion, we should never deviate from our school Motto: ‘Education for Service. Through Our anticipated individual and collective efforts, we shall by the mercy of God be gathering soon to the commissioning of ultra-modern hall facility to be built for the school by Old Students Association”
“This is accordingly, a clarion alarm to all of us, to be amounted to something on the encouraging page of posterity by generously contributing our quota for all developmental projects in the school” Hon Yinka Majekodunmi broadened
Eng. Idowu Hameed (National president of Shams-el-deen Old Students Association) in a complimentary speech, promotes loyalty of partners as a tool for nation-building.
He proceeded, “We cannot forget our departed colleagues to whom we are eternally grateful for their exemplary roles in establishing and firmly rooting the Association”
“Recollections started when members, on our WhatsApp and telegram platforms recalled with jokes and nostalgia; nicknames, habits, smiles, escapades, pranks, thrills etc, which characterised our natural youthful exuberant back then”
“Members freely recalled with attitudinal past events and personalities; Principals, teachers, friendly seniors, wicked’ ones, the loud’ and the reticent students; and disciplinary measures from seniors to mention but few. Those ‘raw materials’ of then have now grown to become finished and highly productive products having gone through processing, reformation and refining over the decades”
“We are happy and proud to announce that we are impacting our immediate society and Nigeria positively in our various fields with unblemished and impeccable track records. We are positively notable in Medicine, the Academia, Engineering, Law, the Armed Forces, the Police, Paramilitary, Public Service, and the business sector” Engineer Idowu Hammed augmented
At the high point of the event, Hon Babajimi Benson MHR (representing Ikorodu federal constituency) and Hon Wasiu Adesina (Executive Chairman, Ikorodu LG) were both honoured with developmental awards presented by Sheik Yahya Oshoala (Former Principal, Shams-el-deen Grammar School)
Subsequently, selected fervent members of the club were gifted with home appliances while the entire members of the club converged at the podium to cut the reunion 30th-anniversary cake.
