In a bid to create and foster positive relations between the NYCN IKD LG Youths and the Nigerian Police Force in Ikorodu LG, a 2021 annual friendly football match was spearheaded courtesy National youth council of Nigeria (Ikorodu LG Branch) on the 26th of December
Stared at eradicating animosity between the Youths and the Security sector in Ikorodu, thereby setting in motion an educational platform to propel synergy between youths and the security sector, the game took place at the Igbogbo police barracks
Giving rise to Unity, Love and Cooperation between the Nigerian Police & NYCN IKD LG, the peaceful soccer event featured Ikorodu youths; Akadri Adeleke, Comrade Olalekan Pelumi Rado, Sholanke Arizona, Fatuga Adedeji, Ganiu Olawale, Idris Omotayo, Awolesi Omolara, Saliu Babatunde, Afinju Ibrahim, Fatuga Waheed, Oshin Omotayo, Afinju Ibrahim, Adeniyi Babatunde and Saliu Babatunde amongst other notable Ikorodu division youths.
Set in motion by the DPO of the police barracks (Igbogbo), it ended 2 – 0 in favour of the Nigerian Police Force (Ikorodu LG) with both sides, subsequently celebrating the victory in one accord on the pitch of play
In his post-match message, Comrade Idris Omotayo (Coordinator, NYCN Ikorodu LG Chapter) states, “This game displays peace and tranquillity between us the youths in Ikorodu LG and the Nigerian Police Force in Ikorodu, letting everyone know that as law-abiding citizens we can all live together in unity and make our society great collectively”
“Regardless of who won, you can see the jubilation from both sides which indicates nothing but love equity. An initiative we intend to frequently stimulate in Ikorodu LG” Comrade Idris Omotayo asserted
