The Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Deola Banjo has proven to be consistent with the distribution of exercise books and other writing materials to students of public schools in Ikorodu North LCDA.
Student representatives of public schools gathered in their numbers to receive hundreds of branded not-to-sold exercise books on behalf of their various schools at Local Government primary school, Is, Ikorodu, Lagos state.
The elated students and their teachers had a friendly time-out with their local government chairman. The Chairman in his wisdom decided to ask the pupils questions for a prize which saw some of the pupils leave the venue with thousands of naira upon getting the answers correctly.
The Vice-Chairman, Honourable Olawale Ameen, leader of the house, Honourable Ayo Adekoya and other legislators, HOD’s, LGEA Secretary and other heads of schools gathered to witness the occasion.
The high point of the event was the distribution of exercise books to the schools which immediately followed with a token from the Chairman to their various schools as appreciation for coming.
The Chairman during his welcome speech reminded the audience that during the last dispensation he made several efforts in the education sector such as distribution of white maker boards to phase out blackboards in public schools, distribution of exercise books, spelling bee programs among others.
The builder assured the audience that his administration would do a whole lot more in the various sectors within the local economy of Ikorodu North LCDA.
The Council-Manager, Mr Peter Babington during his address buttressed the Chairman by saying the distribution of exercise books is the beginning of lined up activities to make better the present situation of public schools in Ikorodu North LCDA.
The legislators, head of schools, teacher representatives, pupils and other guests took turns to applaud the gesture of the chairman while like Oliver Twist pleaded for more.
