Despite encomium of recognition, United Nations ambassador and real estate mogul, Lawrence Uwaoma Onwukwem has relatively kept a low profile, projecting a leadership style of more action to fewer words

The grassroots global founder, known for his generous approach in servicing humanity over the years, bagged Ikorodu News Network (INN) prestigious quintessential leadership awards on the 30th of January 2022

Receiving the honour at his Victoria Island residence, Ambassador Lawrence Onwukwem conveyed utmost joy and humility for the prize, subsequently communicating his core offshoots for the first quarter of the year

He expanded, “This award is simply a motivation to do more for the youths, the communities and society at large, it is with genuine happiness and enthusiasm am accepting this award which is coming at the right time”

“At the right time? Yes!, simply because as we speak, I am about to launch a statewide empowerment program in Lagos, across our local neighbourhoods, to create a more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere for our young lads”

Explaining the essence of the program, Amb Lawrence proceeded, “The project is about issuing scholarships, providing educative sensitisation, back to school support packages and lots more”

“And guess what!, we’re starting up in Ikorodu division, from there we shall move to other local government in Lagos state

“It is imminent for us to set 2022 in motion on this stance due to the rate of unfavourable reports verified on social media, amidst the rise in crime rate by our younger generation who are more desperate to make money without adequate education and foundation”

“As directors we must begin to re-sensitise them, reshaping their mindset not to become ineffective in this transforming era. I intend to provide a support system for them, an open channel to orientate them for futuristic positive growth”

“It is a collective duty to maintain a decent society, and the time to engage is now!” Ambassador Lawrence added
