It is all about Scaling up the difference as the Nigeria Union of teachers Ikorodu Chapter, engaged vice-principals and assistant headteachers for a day medical program on the 12th of February 2022

(The branch chairman) Comrade Fakolade Oluwaseun Oluwafemi p, conducted the health program that took place at the Teachers house in Ikorodu, creating awareness on health-related plights and proffering treatments to unexpected challenges

Tests on High blood pressure, sugar level, BMI, eye deficiencies and others were performed for partaking pedagogy personnel with on-ground medical specialists aiding the steady stratagem

According to the chairman, “We’re here basically to perform medical outreach for vice-principals and assistant headteachers across Ikorodu division, fostering oneness and harmony amongst school administrators”

“With private consultation made available by medical practitioners from government-owned hospitals, we’re also presenting the opportunities for administrators to see our opticians for eye tests which will end up in some beneficiaries receiving Jigi Fako”

“In the max, we’re excited to retain 250 Senior Educators and few retirees at the medical outreach which allowed participants to check the followings; Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index, Random Blood Sugar, Private Consultation with Medical Doctors, Free Eye Test, Free Medical Glasses”

“Nigeria Union Of Teachers, Ikorodu branch is committed to ensuring that our Teachers are not only health conscious but stay healthy” Comrade Fakolade added

Mrs Hamidat Mojosola Sanni (Zonal director of the office of education quality assurance zone 4 Ikorodu) lauded the efforts of comrade Fakolade for creating awareness and calling the attention of school administrators to their health.

She stated, “Sometimes we’re carried away with our work schedules and we forget about our health status, that’s why a program like this is very important to keep school administrators in check as per their health”

“Coming here today, I’ve also done eye tests and body max index, which automatically makes me a beneficiary. A lot of assistant headteachers and vice-principals will learn from the advice given by the medical professionals and take their carcass more seriously“

“We have also been thought how to keep fit through nutrition, diet, exercise and self-discipline. It goes a long way to show that prioritising our fitness is key to longevity, and I want to appreciate the chairman of NUT Ikorodu for organising such a significant health-oriented program” Mrs Mojosola Sanni asserted

Mr Bolujoko Emmanuel (vice-principal of Ofinle community senior secondary school in Igbogbo baiyeku) and Mrs Onyebuchi M.C, assistant headteacher Ijomu Muslim primary school, also cheered the kind gesture of the union chairman, urging subsequent programs of such

“This is a noble program organised by the chairman which displays love and unity among the union in Ikorodu division, upcoming teachers should see this as a course that is worth emulating”

“As teachers, we should all come out for programs like this, and additionally, we support the notion for the chairman to keep organising this program once a month” They added
