DG Wagbatsoma, known to exhibit her outstanding leadership Prowess in taking the district to an enviable height, was received by the district 404A1 members in Ikorodu on an official project commissioning assignment which kicked off at the primary health centre off Ebute road
The first project commissioning, which pertains to waiting chairs for health patients and a covering canopy tent to shield wards from the sun got the DG excited, chaperoned by the region 4 chairperson (Lion Gahun Wole)
According to the president of Ipakodo lions club, Lion Omololu Adeniyi (in bringing the district governor up to speed about the project), the need appraisal arose at a point where the club was having a health program at the centre, and it became noticeable that patients have no relaxed spot to rest while waiting for their respective engagement
He continued, "We ascertained the need to provide these chairs and also assemble the canopy tent for patients, preventing them from waiting underneath the sun, which would be exhausting and dehydrating"
"Furthermore, we organised an earshot screening programme at the local Govt. Primary school, to quotation ways to provide hearing aid for pupils, whose earshot is impaired"
"It's our pleasure to have the district governor commission these waiting chairs and canopy, also given her open access to see measures at which we're supporting children with hearing problems" President Omololu Adeniyi added
The DG, before the commissioning, lauded the leadership of Ipakodo Lions club for prioritising people seeking medical attention, adding that other clubs should emulate such dynamic acts of service to humanity Wagbatsoma continued, "Normally, a project like this is not traditional to us, but it is key because we are talking about patients, who are waiting in line to receive medical attention. It is pure service to humanity in a unique form" "The president is thinking outside the box to make the project possible and I want other clubs to see this as a pointer to not only cater to our normal calendar projects but also key into areas like this and help people" DG Fortune Wagbatsoma asserted
The matron of the primary health centre (Mrs Shuzom Funmilola) later thanked the leadership of Ipakodo lions club for always showing up to aid the centre at different points of need, urging the club to continue in its aim to serve humanity
