The return of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on the 10th of March 2022 to the waterbed region of Lagos State is an indicator of the continuous upward trajectory of Ikorodu division.
According to the saying ‘overwhelming contributions demands a steadfast red carpet welcome’, the Lagos State governor, confidently unveiling his scorecard on his performance in Ikorodu is a clear testament to the synergy between the state and local government which has resulted in massive development
Touching on the project inspection phase independently of the official visit by Gov. Sanwo-Olu, Agura-gberigbe road, an area which has clamoured for a good road network over some time is now to live with excitement and absolute relief as the governor affirmed the commencement of the project to kick of this weekend
A declaration coming through to validate Hon Wasiu Adesina’s prior pledge to the community.
Hon Wasiu Adesina (Chairman, Ikorodu LG) had been offering the area a facelift work with soft road palliative to ease the plights of inhabitants plying that axis regularly. And indeed if Imota Rice Mill (a 32 metric tonnes per hour rice production plant, considered to be the largest manufacturing plant in sub-Saharan Africa) would be commission by President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) as stated by Mr Governor, then it simply means the road construction will be completed in fast record timing
The significance of upgrading the freeway network of Agura-gberigbe road with a backchannel link to Imota LCDA in Ikorodu division cannot be overemphasized in the medium of traffic reduction & ease routing for residents.
The same can be likened to the eventual completion of Ikorodu’s main roundabout which would extensively reduce traffic, touch lighting the centre juncture as without a doubt the attraction centre for an iconic entry point
Furthermore, the construction of Igbe-Igbogbo-Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way is another key axis project linking Igbogbo baiyeku LCDA to the prior said construction work on the second phase of Ijede Road, which starts from Ewu Elepe into Gberigbe.
With N500 million compensation being handed to 74 claimants and worship centres whose structures were demolished to pave way for the construction, it implies due completion of the project, which would become another flash in the pan of accomplishment for the administration of Bldr Sesan Daini (Executive chairman, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA)
(It is not just an official visit), This is about Infrastructural upgrade that readies Ikorodu division as a catalyst to attract better-elevated growth, investors, game-changers and pacesetters
It is about boldly telling the world once again that Ikorodu region is ready for business, open for wealth maximisation and way beyond negative press depicting the region as crime-infested.
In conclusion, the successful streaming and progression of this revolutionary project across Ikorodu division cannot deny the imprint of Hon Babajimi Benson MHR (Representing Ikorodu federal constituency), whose style of leadership and coordination has made a project of high volume looked simplified
From the newly completed Ikorodu Youth Centre in Ita-Elewa, the just commissioned mini stadium, upgrade of Odogunyan Industrial Estate and renovation of royal palaces in Imota, Igbogbo, Isiwu, Ipakodo, Ijede and Ibeshe, and the commissioning a 40 metric tonnes Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Refill Plant in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) amongst other project execution, the triangular gauges in realising these feats is highly laudable and considered good dividends of democracy in the world of politics.
With a clear vision to transform his constituency into a state of the art edifice, mimicking his most used phrase ‘Ikorodu, the Miami of Lagos’, the synergy displayed between the federal lawmaker and his numerous council administrators across the division can be described as nothing short of headway, putting the interests of the people first
Ongoing projects of the State Government in Ikorodu once again include the construction of Agric-Isawo-Konu-Arepo Road, Ikorodu Roundabout, construction of Emuren Junction and Parafa Along on Ikorodu-Imota Road, upgrading of Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Igbogbo-Igbe Road, construction of Oba Sekumade Road, improvement project at Sulaimon Soderu Bypass and construction of Powerline Road in Akasoleri, among others.
