The event which will span 2days, converged voluntary members of its numerous clubs at Oluwatoyin Lions activities centre in Ibeshe road, Ikorodu featuring preliminary accreditations by members and soft games to establish an absolute receiving atmosphere for all
With the theme 'Protecting the future of Lionism through membership values', it was all felicitation and exchanging of pleasantries as oversight by its region 4 and region 5 chairpersons, Lion Wole Ajidahun and Lion Adewale Saheed Michael, Lion Prince Adeyinka Oyenuga (Chairman, Summit Planning Committee), Lion Prince Tunji Oredipe (Special adviser on Summit event), Lion Niyi Balogun (event Special adviser), Lion Awofeso Awoleke (Zone 4A) and Lion Oladele Olorunsola (Zone 5A) respectively.
Members were subsequently assembled at the meeting hall point for the official opening ceremony where participants were succinct on the occasion classification and significance of amassing which was later followed by Oleku night at the same venue.
According to Lion Adewale Saheed Michael (region 5 chairperson), the summit is an indication of the developed climate of the association within Ikorodu division, ascertaining its various pivotal routes. Lion Saheed continued, "Once upon a time, we were only region 4 in Ikorodu, but today, due to expansion we've severed into region 5. And as a result of that growth, the summit has been put in motion to give us a medium to plan our future concurrently"
"The summit is about presenting ourselves with sophisticated measures to create more impact and take our numerous clubs to the next level in terms of the quality of service to humanity that we provide"
"Playing games is meant to cool down their stress and make the environment conducive because our members are all coming from one engaging activity or the other, it will be followed by the hospitality night for all members" Lion Adewale Saheed expanded
Day 2 of the region 4 and region 5 summits will kick off with a health awareness walk around Ikorodu central, which also includes aerobic exercise and afterwards a symposium for guest speakers to orientate members on its future aspirations.
Other members in attendance at the accreditation and games include; Lion Helen Ruth (former president, Ikorodu diamond lions club), Lion Adeleke Babatunde Akadri (Sayleke), Lion Oluwayemisi Abiola (President, Ikorodu Saphire Lions Club), Lion Olumide Obasanya, Lion Bayo (Ipakodo Lions club) amongst others
