EDUCATION DISTRICT 2 EMERGES WINNER OF 2022 PUBLIC SCHOOL CRAFT ART COMPETITION, GETS TWO (2) BOTANICAL GARDENS ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

83bensk8264094135605966005 The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has presented the 2 botanical Gardens won by Government Junior Model College, Ikorodu and Kosofe Senior College, Ketu to the schools. The two schools representing Education District 2, emerged winners of the competition and won various gifts including CONSTRUCTION OF BOTANICAL GARDENS. Speaking at the unveiling of the Botanical Gardens, Mrs Anike Adekanye, the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, appreciated the government of Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for presenting such unique gifts to the winners of this year's tree planting day Competition.
She added that the gardens will serve as learning resources that will expose students to plant biodiversity, helping them to learn more horticultural practices like propagation, planting and cultivation techniques.
The gardens consist of over 80 varieties of trees and are segmented into four sections namely, Edible, Ornamental, Shrubs and Medicine. She appreciated the General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs Adetoun Popoola, for doing so much to enrich environmental education as a core curriculum component across Lagos State Schools.
