Wasiu Adesina and his Vice-Chairman, Aarebirin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, were among eminent personalities that graced the All Progressive Congress (APC) party secretariat in Ikorodu LGA on the 22nd of March 2023. A day set aside to wine, dine and celebrate success, Party members; Loyalists were hosted, marking a conquest spree for the ruling political body (APC) post-2023 general elections. The victory party was organised by Ikorodu Local Government and spearheaded by the council boss himself, Hon. Wasiu Adesina. With music, dance, food and drinks, the get-together was put in place according to the chairman, to appreciate members and followers of the party for their loyalty and dedication from the beginning till the end of the electioneering process. Adesina, speaking with Ikorodu News Network (INN), stated that for APC to deliver not only at the National level but also at the State grade, is an accomplishment of joy that warrants returning the glory to God. The council boss explains, "The victory of the APC both at the Presidential and Gubernatorial level calls for celebration. We're using this day to thank God for allowing our party to triumph at the National elections and also at the governorship level". "This gathering is also about celebrating our party members and supporters, letting them know that we're solid with them. They've stood behind us, and now it's time for us to return the favour by providing effective governance". "This party embraces everyone and works for the good of all common individuals, that's why am always encouraging people, even in another party to join us, so we can continue to win together" Adesina asserted. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has said. Dr. Obasa gave this position in a congratulatory message to Nigerians on the occasion of the country's 63rd Independence anniversary. In the message released by his media office, the Speaker noted that Nigeria is currently led by Asiwaju Tinubu, a financial expert and who knows how to plug every hole that would ordinarily hinder the country from reaching its goals. Noting the current challenges facing Nigeria, Dr. Obasa encouraged the citizens to be more tolerant at this time and exercise more patience with the hope of a greater destination for the country. "We collectively understand the state of the country. We also know the sacrifice each of us is making at the moment to see that our nation works for us again. "Delightedly, the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hit the ground running sorting out the challenges and designing action plans to resolve a whole lot of them. OVER 6,000 VULNERABLE CONSTITUENTS IN LAGOS EAST SENATORIAL DISTRICT RECEIVE SENATOR TOKUNBO ABIRU FOOD PACKS ®™√ INN Nigeria © img 20230930 wa00101453984853185735953 The Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA on Saturday distributed over 6,000 Food Packs to vulnerable members of the society in the Lagos East Senatorial District. It will be recalled that the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District launched the quarterly Food Packs Programme in June 2023. This is the second edition of the well applauded programme targeted at vulnerable people, namely; widows, unemployed youth, aged, women and People living with disabilities are drawn across the 98 wards in the 16 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development areas of the district. Constituents trooped out en masse to various collections in Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Somolu and Kosofe LGAs to collect the Food Packs containing:Goldenvita, Semo Vita, Garri, Pure Soya Oil, Spread(Butter), Granulated Sugar, Pasta Couscous, Pasta Macaroni, Pasta Spaghetti, Noodles Jollof, Noodles GMPS and Amazing Day Breakfast Cereal. In his remarks, Senator Abiru, fondly called the #DoingGood Senator, said the food packs programme was a direct intervention for the people at the grassroot who are feeling the heat of the economic pangs occasioned by the removal of petroleum subsidy. According to him, the Food Packs will support the most vulnerable households in this challenging period. The Senator also assured that he will not relent in championing legislations, programmes and interventions that will have lasting impacts on the larger number of the constituents of Lagos East. He said SAIL Innovation Lab, the first of its kind Innovation Lab in Lagos East, founded by him and his wife, Feyisola was set up to offer sustainable and globally competitive jobs and opportunities to young people of the district. Senator Abiru said a sizable number of youths had been trained in digital and tech-related programmes that are well sought-after globally. On the critical Ikorodu-Itokin road which serves as a major road that links the Ikorodu to Epe and Ibeju-Lekki, and other parts of the country, he assured that the new government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown commitment to implement the awarded rehabilitation project. It is imperative to state that this is not the first direct humanitarian assistance for the needy that the distinguished Senator Abiru has done. It will be recalled that the Lagos East Senator disbursed more than N150 million Naira in about 24 months to over 2,500 vulnerable people under his COVID-19 Financial Relief Scheme. Every month, beneficiaries received direct credit of N5,000 each for the period the programme lasted. Some of the beneficiaries who expressed gratitude to Senator Abiru include; Muftau Adegboyega Tojuowo, a Person Living with a Disability, other include, Anuoluwapo Zainab, Tiletile Kazeem Idowu, Folake Akerele and Niyi Oyeniran.
