94benek7E27678552278238744928. The Chief Editor of Ikorodu Newspaper, Prince Ganny Awobajo has weighed his viewpoint on the current race of prospective candidates trotting for Ikorodu Constituency 1 house of assembly seat.
Awobajo, an elder statesman who has successfully run his news publication agency for over 36 years crouched with Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 9th of April 2022, discharging his intuition on the present political trajectory and viable aftermath of the election as it pertains to Ikorodu constituency 1.
In his statement, the senior Ikorodu insider affirmed that Ikorodu constituency 1 has nothing to forfeit but more to amass if the attending Majority Leader of the house returns for another tenure.
"If Hon SOB Agunbiade (who's also the National Chairman of the Nigeria Majority Leaders' Forum) returns to the Lagos State house of assembly for another term, there is a likelihood of him becoming the next Speaker of the house which would be an enormous advantage to the entire Ikorodu division, not just constituency 1 alone"
"We can all see Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa (speaker of the house), and his accomplishments in Agege local government as a direct effect of his leveraging position. Peeking at the bigger picture beyond the ongoing campaigns, Ikorodu stands to gain a lot if Agunbiade, who's presently the Majority Leader of the house subsequently becomes the Speaker (which can only happen if he returns)"
"I don't want to lunge into his accomplishments because I am not a politician, nor am I in support of any candidates, but we shouldn't quickly shirk the fact that Agunbiade has become one of the finest legislators in Lagos State with good experience to approximate"
Hon SOB Agunbiade is a two-time award recipient for the best lawmaker in plenary session, known for spearheading the 8-Man Ad hoc Committee on Land Grabbers activities, undertaking legislative framework for effective policy regime to ensure property protection in Lagos State.
As the primary elections for LSHA draw closer with campaigns heating up at all sides across the division, Awobajo further amplified his message to political leaders and stakeholders to caution their wards on making the communities safe and conducive for every inhabitant despite the close up primary season.
Awobajo continued, "This is the period where we begin to see oppositions from different corners, the primary election comes up in May 2022, it has been our tradition that as the days draw near, disputes will arise between candidates for reasons unknown"
"But I which to use this medium to call on all our political leaders, gatekeepers and stakeholders to see to it that nothing of violence should ensue from this political process. What will be will be, but not at the expense of innocent civilians"
"We must guarantee that all candidates are convened to mandate and counsel consequently to impede every form of bad blood and controversies from serving the norms in our political system" Prince Awobajo asserted
