It was a loud and clear affirmative expression by traditional rulers, heads of religious organisations, youth, trade union groups and notable politicians for the choice of Hon Hakeem Babajide Taoreed as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency 2 for the forthcoming Lagos State House Assembly election.
The avowal came to fruition on the 16th of April 2022 at Abule Eko axis of Ijede LCDA, where the youth 0’clock aspirant popularly known as AK is OK or simply Hon Taoreed officially made his declaration as a prime candidate for Ikorodu constituency 2 LSHA seat.
Agreed by all stakeholders present at the proclamation event that Taoreed Babajide is a confirmed son of the soil who embodies the quality, experience and pedigree to speak for the good people of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon Taoreed Babajide eventually disclosed that he had challenged himself to attain literary and proficient excellence thus settling himself at a position of advantage to take up responsibility in serving the good people of Ikorodu constituency 2 through several means like provision of social amenities; mini light projects, facilitation of transformer; organising community food outreach & programs; spearheading sporting activities; provision of UTME forms for admission seekers, scholarships for undergraduates; support programs for youngsters and old amongst others.
In his rich declaration remarks, Hon Babajide Hakeem also stated that he has served Lagos State in many capacities as a diligent and people-centred person which includes his experience as a public servant, who worked across 20 Ministries/Departments/ Agencies as a Control Officer.
Further buttressing his wealth of knowledge, Hon Taoreed asserted that his level of insights and recourses is to encourage the collective benefit of his Constituents, expanding his service to Ikorodu Constituency 2 which consists of (Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Imota and Ijede) is poised to keep all hopes alive.
Hon Taoreed Babajide Hakeem continued, “It is no longer news that I have been on the consultation train for the past few months to seek the advice and blessings of our religious, traditional and political leaders in Ikorodu Constituency II. As a 38yr old with a track record of achievements, my presence in the political corridor has been changing minds, moving hearts and inspiring lives across the constituent”
“Today, I am here to honour and obey the clarion call to serve the good people of Igbogbo-Baiyeku, Imota and Ijede LCDA, This is why with utmost humility, I am formally declaring my intention to run for the Office of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency II, on the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the forthcoming primary elections”
“If by the grace of God and the will of the people, I am given the opportunity, I would ensure fair, quality, experienced and competent representation of the people of Ikorodu constituency II based on the responsibility of a Legislature which is Centred around; Quality Representation, Legislation and Oversight functions”
“As the focus of my manifesto to the good people of Ikorodu Constituency II. After legislation, all efforts will be geared towards the facilitation of landmark and laudable projects, provision of jobs and opportunities for our young and old”

The Idera De 2023 candidate further received blessings from the regent of ijede traditional council and the Baale of Abule Eko community who were among luminaries present at the official declaration ceremony before lifting the hands of the youth leader as a sign of approval to his political course.
