The Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) was founded in 1978 and registered under the land perpetual succession Act as a non-profit organisation.

It has a national secretariat, four zonal offices and branches in all the states of the federation and Abuja.
The Association admits those in manufacturing, processing, mining and service industries whose capital investment falls within the definition of small scale industry as may be reviewed from time to time by the government.

NASSI is quite alert to gender issues and has placed a high premium on encouraging women’s entrepreneurship.

The Association has established a Women Wing to cater for their special needs apart from being well represented in the Executive Council of NASSI.
Part of its objectives is; To establish and maintain an association for the exchange of ideas and techniques on issues relevant to the development of small scale industries.

To establish contact with the government, Its institutions and other non-governmental organisations for the advancement and promotion of the small industries.

To contact, Consult, confer and co-operate with foreign agencies, institutions and organisations within and outside Nigeria to enhance the growth and development of small scale industries in Nigeria.

To develop a computer-based information and documentation centre for accessing reliable economic data for the overall development of small scale industries.

To source, provide and facilitate credit delivery to small scale industries as well as offer library services for SMEs.
Themed ‘Indispensible role of MSMEs in the quest for Nigeria’s industrialisation’, Lagos NASSI is organising its 6th annual trade fair, to kick off from the 9th to the 13th of May 2022 at Digital bridge institute, Ilupeju bye-pass Lagos.
