AGBEDE YOUTH FORUM ORGANISES EXTRA MORAL CLASSES FOR STUDENTS, JOIN FORCES WITH NDLEA TO ADVOCATE AGAINST DRUG ABUSE ®™√ INN Nigeria ©

With the focus on mostly teenagers and partly youths, the Agbede Youths Forum flagged off its curriculum-based teaching sessions for youngsters across the Agbede-Olosugbo community in Ikorodu North LCDA.

A 3 week sectioned tutorial class also accentuated an advocacy program against drug abuse to orientate the young minds against lifestyles that begets social vices around the society.

The program which kicked off on the 7th of May 2022 succeeds in badges, captioning subjects like mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English Literature to freely dish out knowledge to learners who cannot afford the extra moral classes in preparation for WAEC, NECO & SSCE.

Poised to take the frontage to the 9 Agbede communities, the flag off program generated delegates from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), educating the pupils about the dangers of patronising drugs without doctors’ prescription.

Leading the charge, Mrs Sanni EdagbagbeOluwaranti Bilikis from NDLEA Ikorodu Area Command chaperoned by Mr Kehinde Adewuyi (Chief Superintendent of Narcotics, Staff officer Investigation) and Mr Usama Maiyama (assistant superintendent of Narcotics) urged the youths to loiter away from bad friends and listen to elderly counsels.

The delegates continued, “Most times we tend to follow characters that are depicted on television not understanding the influence backing such characters, it is wise as future leaders to imbibe positive traits that will help your current aspirations rather than adopt elements that will amount to no good”.

“harbouring upright role models and remaining modest as you develop yourselves academically is the best option to not only make your family proud but also our country Nigeria”

“We’ve seen instances today, both on the news and social media, how drug abuse has completely eroded lives of ignorant people who got addicted to the lifestyle that was never part of their upbringing, it is only right we continue to promote the significance of abstaining from drug abuse which a pathway to all forms of social vices” NDLEA delegates asserted

Mr Oladapo Oludare Ebenezer (Ikorodu North CDA member and Agbede-Olosugbo community leader) also addressed the youth’s remain focused to support the developmental phase of the community at large.

He proceeded, “In a case study of this nature, I have invested interest simply because the lives of our future leaders are at risk with how things are steered presently”.

“It is very important for us as elders to charge our children without milking words to help them become great in life”

“Having programs like this to connect them to things that matter to their livelihood will enable them to stand firm and know the next step to take in progressing”

“With this initiative, they’ll be able to nurture themselves internally and externally, and that will prepare them to represent this community positively” Mr Oladapo Ebenezer affirmed while appreciating the agbede youth forum for organising a laudable program of this kind.

The secretary of Agbede youth forum (Taiwo Ogunbayo) later pointed out that the program will run for three weeks and afterwards will kick off another badge for students who’re not in the current set to create time and freely enrol subsequently.

Other collaborators with Agbede Youths Forum are Golden Touch Academy, Hisreal Agro Venture, Delly Electrical Electronic & Solar Installation and Mr Tunde Michael Alogbe a.k.a Tunde NUT (Daddy).
