Mudashiru Obasa has said that the 30-day Islamic fasting allows the Muslim faithful to rededicate themselves to the religious tenet of piety, tolerance, forgiveness and love. Dr Obasa added that Ramadan is a period of sober reflection, supplication and humility beforeighty Allah. Obasa, in his Ramadan message released by Eromosele Ebhomele, his Chief Press Secretary, also congratulated Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria for having the divine privilege of being alive to partake in 'Sawm' and observe one of the five pillars of Islam. The Speaker equally described Ramadan as a period for Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria to show more commitment and adherence to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, especially in the area of almsgiving and love for one another. Noting that the fasting came at the right time for Nigerians as the country just conducted the 2023 general election with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the President-elect, the Speaker urged Muslims to pray for the leadership of the country as well as the incoming administrations at national and state levels. "We thank Almighty Allah for the privilege He has given us to partake in this Ramadan. We also thank Him for all that He has done for us individually, for our State and for our country. "Just as we seek the face of Allah for our individual needs for is period, let us also remember our country, especially at this time. We are happy Allah answered our Special Tawaf of last year on the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Now that victory has been recorded, let's all use this period to pray for the success of the forthcoming administration. "As we fast, let's not forget that almsgiving is a cardinal principle in Islam just like it is in every religion. We should spend each day sharing love and reaching out to others. "The Holy Qur'an instructs us to 'Spend in God’s cause: do not contribute to your destruction with your own hands, but do good, for God loves those who do good.' "Let's not also forget to be pious, humble, tolerant of each other and obey every of Allah's instructions now and always. Ramadan Kareem!" Obasa said while praying that every Nigerian would reap the reward of Ramadan.

Babajimi Benson MHR on the 5th of March 2023. Accompanied by delegates from the Lagos State Government and Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, Engr. Ayotunde Shodeinde, Rep. Benson and his State entourage earned a cheerful welcome from the evangelical body at Pashoku, Ita-Elewa axis of Ikorodu local government. With March 11th gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections around the corner, the National Lawgiver seized the medium to request prayers and support during the meeting to spawn success for the All Progressive Congress (APC) party. In his speech, Rep. Benson enthralled the 10 parishes of the church (represented), yearning their backing and prayers for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the APC House of Assembly candidates in Ikorodu Constituency 1 & 2, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye (OGA) and Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro Moshood (AMA). Rep. Benson continued, "Ikorodu delivered the highest votes at the general elections on the 25th of February, which we know that a lot of members from religious bodies played a part in the outcome". "Due to the impressive outcome, the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, sent me and his delegates to appreciate the church for their assistance and also ask for your endorsement in the oncoming elections" He asserted. The Regional Pastor, Clergy Dele Olowookere, thanked the lawmaker for his brief visit and also congratulated him on his re-election victory on February 25th. Bestowing more light to the essence of the official visit, Clergy Dele explained that the Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has done extremely well in office and deserves to continue. Clarifying that the church is in support of good governance, Pastor Dele said that his mindset is to see the desire of Gov. Sanwo-Olu, winning the March 11th election come to pass, so he could accomplish more for the centre of excellence state.
