e92ij3n37E28837950169131465372 Mr Pretty Okafor, President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association Of Nigeria (PMAN), has called on Artists across the nation to join forces with the redefined body to propel the entertainment sector. Mr Okafor disclosed the information at a meeting held at the association's National Headquarters in Lagos on Friday the 14th of July 2023, while receiving a group of musicians and a management company from Kogi State in Nigeria. According to Mr Okafor, the Nigeria entertainment industry is fast becoming the biggest in the world and PMAN is at the forefront of it. Explaining that every aspiring artist wants to come and learn about Afrobeats presently, he said that PMAN as a body is ready to build a synergy of support for young artists in areas of distribution of content, pension plans, legal issues concession, and digital assistance. He continued, "We plan to as well aid with international touring, and artists questing for work permits overseas". "PMAN is prepared to support striving musicians in Nigeria on tracts of affordable homes, and creation of directional platforms, which we have commenced in Abuja". "What most artists don't know is that they can't do a lot without PMAN, but I believe now, they will learn to comprehend us better". "We're the only association that the government listens to because we're governance inclined," he said. Furthermore, Mr Okafor stated that PMAN is on the verge to build a configuration in the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria, asserting that the body is poised to spread its tentacles across the board. Jumabee explains, "With this present PMAN, we have a platform for all artists to plug in and excel both individually and collectively". "On registering to get involved, there is a lot of work to be done, we'll try to get all our artists to sign up, we will do rigorous outreach to set the ball rolling, and we will try our best to talk about the new PMAN at our respective jurisdictions". "In preaching the gospel about this new PMAN, my team will embark on an entertainment-oriented monthly conference, set to enlighten our people on how to get involved actively in the process, and give artists access to register at our expense". "We shall organise this program in Kogi, Benue and Jos axis of Nigeria because a lot of artists are ready to know and enlists themselves, but unfortunately, they are not well informed". "Let me assure this present leadership that we'll play our part to make this new PMAN a success" Jumabee asserted Commending the group for coming from Kogi state to visit the association's National Headquarters in Lagos, the body's 1st vice president, Mr Sunny Neji explained that the present executives have worked hard to lay a solid foundation for the body, adding that the collective efforts of the body are solely to aid other artists to scale higher. "The era of a cabal running PMAN is far behind us, and now all hands must be on deck to unify to give this association the strong identity it deserves". "Progressing forward, we're ready to bridge the gap for performing artists in Nigeria because the new PMAN is not for personal interests," Sunny Neji said. Also, the 2nd Vice President of the body, Zaaki Azzay, thanked the group for visiting the association, explaining that in recent times, it took the body over 9yrs reshape its identity. 990jhnnjk1568361411267132044 Government College Ikorodu Old Students Association (GCIOSA) of Set 1993 has donated 538 metres of solar-powered lights to their alma mater. The donation was done as part of the association's efforts to give back to the school and improve the learning environment for current and future students. It also was carried out to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 93 set students, who graced the school premises in one accord on the 6th of July 2023. Aimed at giving back, the solar-powered lights, in a collective stance by the 93-Set, will improve security on the school's campus and provide a safer environment for students and staff. In a brief handing-over ceremony before the project's entrusting, the chairman of the 93-Set, Prince Daniel Ekiyoyo, said that the assistance was done to make the school security active and safe for students. According to him, the project will embellish the school, making it environmentally receptive. Summarising the undertaking, Prince Daniel explained, "To increase the usage of clean and green energy, We provided Solar street lights from the school gate straight down the Red line, Solar lights on a section of road between assembly hall and hostel (Green line)". "Also, we donated Solar lights to the Administrative Block (Blue line), Solar lights for phase 4, 6FT X 4FT Signboard with a map of the school and directions installed by the main gate". "Not to forget that we worked out the installation of Reflectors and Painting of Poles". "It is one thing to have a Dream, it is another thing to Materialize. Going by the global economic situation, it would have been an impossible task, but for the resilience and determination of our noble 1993 Set, we all resolved that this mission must be attained". "Our experience on this project was challenging, but we thank the Almighty God for seeing us through. A humongous thanks to the GCI 93 Set 30 Years Re-Union Steering Committee for the fantastic job done in executing this Project. President of the Government College Ikorodu old students association, Mr Ademola Somide in his speech, said that the project drives to show how focused the associations have been, in ensuring unity of purpose in the development of the structures of the school and the well-being of the students. According to him, with the actualisation of the project, one can now safely move to classes for night prep, or even do some extra reading without the fear of knocking feet, stepping into wet areas of the road, or the fear that someone may be lurking around unidentified. Talking to the students in attendance, he said, "By the commissioning of this project, your reading and learning environment is being enhanced, and you are only expected to reciprocate by engaging in more extra studies and getting better results". "It's also for you to keep in memory, that someday in future you will complete your studies, and move on to become different people in life. But whatever you become, you must remember to give back to your source (alma mater)". "And that's why we have the Government College Ikorodu Old Students Association, which is an easy vehicle for doing this. Even as students of higher institutions, you have a space amongst us" he asserted. Mr Ademola directed his remarks to the School Management, stating that though the institution is segregated into Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary schools, with each operating independently under separate administrators, it should still be acknowledged as 'Our School'. Congratulating the 93 set for successfully delivering the project on the occasion of their 30th anniversary of leaving Government College Ikorodu, Mr Ademola charged the old students, explaining that together, they are stronger in doing greater things to the benefit of our alma mater. "Thank you for working with the project committee in the deliverance of this standard project. We trust you will, as you must have been informed, keep an eye after this delivery to ensure that this lightning project remains alive and keeps serving its purpose for years to come" he concluded.
