After a substantial delay in wait for INEC officials to supervise the PDP primary elections at Ikorodu club on the 22nd of May 2022, the dust settled and Hon Balogun Rotimi Olatunbosun emerged.
The real estate mogul and youth leader from Ikorodu North LCDA clinched the ticket enormously beating Hon Olamide Lawal by a whooping 31 – 2 margin in a closed door delegate votes.
The team components defied the torrent that soiled the slated sunday exercise held at Ikorodu club.
The exercise was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) dispatched from the commission’s headquarters to monitor the primaries and constituency delegates.
According to Hon Balogun Rotimi post primaries, he stated his overwhelming joy and credited the party for their adequate support which gave him the victory.
Balogun continued, “PDP is incredible. From the bottom of my heart, a big thank you to all the leaders and entire members of PDP, as well as the good people of Ikorodu constituency 1”.
“This victory is a feat for democracy, and our intertwined relationship with Everyone. Thank you for democratically electing me as your representative in the coming election to claim Ikorodu mandate and represent the entire Ikorodu constituency l come 2023”.
“I am deeply humbled by your support, and I want to assure you that I am going to work day and night to make sure PDP wins the seat come 2023. I thus dedicate this victory to all our party members, our party leaders, my co-candidate, my family Balogun, my wife and my team”.
