The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Tuesday, 14th of June, signed the 2022 Appropriation Bill of the Council into law.
This pursued the agreement and presentation of the Bill by the Ikorodu Legislative committee to the Council Chairman (in the presence of his Vice-chairman, SLG, council-manager, clerk of the house, budget manager and other council delegates) at the Chairman’s conference room in the secretariat.
Presenting the Bill to the Council Chairman, Leader of the house, Ikorodu 6th Legislative council, Hon. Adebowale Adebola stated that the Councillors worked round the horologe in ensuring that the Bill received a brisk progression.
He commented that indeed the people of Ikorodu LGA were delighted with the prompt tempo Adesina was delivering his projects, adding that delaying the passage of the budget (by the legislative chamber) would be a disservice to the good people of Ikorodu.
Before signing the Bill, (Hon. Wasiu Adesina) the Council Chairman appreciated the leadership and members of the 6th Legislative council for the spirited path of the Bill, ensuring that the budget would be executed to the missive.
While also commending his oversight executives for their continued cooperation and support to the growth of the council, the Chairman asserted that his government will keep enhancing its capacity to meet the needs of residents in Ikorodu local government.
He continued, “Ward projects are bestowed based on a needs assessment of the people at the grassroots, as well as on feasibility of the proposed project with regards to budget provision”
“This administration will continue to work in synergy with the Legislative Arm, to ensure that Ikorodu LGA continues to develop and grow from strength to strength” Adesina surmised
He further buttressed the ongoing involvement of the Lagos state government on the Agura-gberigbe road structure, applauding Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for deeming it fit to extend the road edifice towards the province.
Adesina, who also seized the medium to present a utility mobile vehicle to the head of the council’s revenue department affirmed that his goal is to ensure all sectors are in top-notch performance to realise maximum productivity, augmenting that two more vehicles would be presented to the department in the latter part of the year.
The budget summary revealed that the appropriation bill is the sum of One Billion, Nine Hundred and Forty-Nine Million, Sixty-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Nine Naira Eighty Kobo (N1,949,065,849.80) only is approved as the Year 2022 Budget.
Income estimate from value-added tax (VAT) is One Billion, Two Hundred and Twenty-Seven Million, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Two Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty-Two Naira and Eighteen Kobo (N1,227,862,162.18) only has been approved.
Twenty-Six Million Naira (26,000,000) only has been approved as an income estimate from State Coordinated Revenue 2022.
The sum of One Hundred and Five Million Naira (105,000,000) only has been approved as an income estimate from Ikorodu Local Government Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the Financial year 2022.
One Hundred and Seventy Million, Fifty-Six Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty-Eight Naira and Seven Kobo (170,056,228.07) only has been approved as Expected Loan from Bank, While estimated recurrent expenditure is One Billion, Three Hundred and Twenty-Nine Million, Thirty-One Hundred Thousand, Eight Hundred and Seventy-Six Naira and Forty-Nine Kobo (1,329,031,876.49).
