383h3n3nm2428111655197291695 As the project calendar year comes to a stop for Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions club, the service to humanity-based league touched down community senior secondary school in Baiyeku to secure one last project on the 29th of June 2022.
Under the leadership of Lion Babatunde Shobowale (President, Ikorodu Metro Lions Club), the team took its crusade against drug abuse (as a preference undertaking) to the internal axis of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA in Ikorodu division.
Collaborating with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ikorodu Area Command, students of the public institution were thoroughly occupied and warned to stay out of peer influence and entrapment that is directed toward drug abuse exercises. Lion (Prince) Tunji Oredipe (Chairman, Club Project execution committee) told Ikorodu News Network (INN) that the club concluded to tilt its project towards Drug Abuse based on the rising concerns of young lads getting affected by the problematic lifestyle, which is seizing its toll against the advancement of the community. Representing the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mrs Sanni EdagbagbeOluwaranti Bilikis (Assistant Commander of Narcotics (ACN) Professional Counselor in Charge Drug Demand Reduction Units of Ikorodu Area Command, Kasolori), exhorted students to listen to both their parents and teachers, she advised them to avoid staying around after school hours, deterring themselves from entertaining unlawful activities. Urging the young scholars to protect their brains, control their mindset and ascertain their age growth, Mrs Sanni Bilikis surmise that pupils should be bold enough to ask questions and gain better knowledge to avoid falling prey to the health crisis.
Voluntary members of the club further shared flyers to both the school administration and pupils, displaying practical analysis of the crusade to help aid better understanding.
Before the end of the program, students were allowed to ask cogent questions related to the subject matter, obtaining professional advice and admonition to clear their doubts and scepticism.
