7766677899ijj2642351904877700008 In an overture to recognise innumerable performances of indigenous icons and plop them in the spotlight, Ikorodu's prestigious media entity, Starlight gazette, orchestrated a celebration of outstanding Achievers ceremony on the 11th of July 2022.
Drawing selfless service and grassroots growth catalysts to the forefront, the publication group accentuated Ijede-based personalities, who're making waves within and outside their proxy parameters.
With the Regent of Ijede Kingdom, High Chief Aliu Kayode Musidiq, the Odofin of Ijede Kingdom, High Chief Babatunde Ogunmuyiwa, Hon Femi Kabir Kareem; Vice-Chairman, Ijede LCDA, in dual capacity also representing the Council Chairman Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba present at the TBT event centre in Ijede LCDA, it was an extravaganza all the way.
Conferring honour to extraordinary identities, maintaining orbit with respective feats and enabling the world to recognise it, the spotlight was upon Alhaji Bashiru Akinwade Saminu (who rose from a cleaner to AGM) and Princess Kafilat Omolade Hassan (first female chairman, ICAN south-west zone).
In an assertion to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Chief-Publisher, Starlight Newspaper, Adedamola Aderibigbe conveyed the need to identify with indigenous success stories, to motivate others never to give up.
"We're celebrating two of our own, Alhaji Bashiru Saminu and Princess Kafilat Hassan, they're both exemplary figures, role models for our younger generation particularly now that the dignity of labour is been thrown out the window"
"Alhaji Bashiru Saminu started his career as a cleaner before he rose through the ranks to become the Assistant General Manager of the same company after furthering his studies. He's an inspiration to many even after his retirement". "On the other hand, Princess Kafilat Hassan, who is from Ijede, is the present district chairman of ICAN in Ikorodu, and the first female DG from the south-west zone". "In recent times when young individuals are feeling less of themselves with no footpath to succeed, which has open doors to all forms of social vices we witness today, these achievers are case studies worth emulating to proffer hope for the future".
Aderibigbe further stated that his brand, Starlight Newspaper, on behalf of the Ijede community, organised the ceremony to extol individuals who are a shining light to the local community development area, thus promoting them as function prototypes.
"This event is to let them know that we're proud of all they've attained in their respective careers and also wish them greater heights in their future endeavours" Aderibigbe asserted
The Chairman of Ijede Development Foundation (IDF) Alhaji Fola Salu, The Olori Ebi of Kiyinu Royal Family of Ijede and Chairman TBT event centre, Alhaji Tajudeen Babatunde Taoreed, Imam Adeyeri Ismail Abass and the Regent of Okeletu, Chief Nofiu Kasunmu were also in attendance.
