To further strengthen the footings of the party, The Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ikorodu has met with constituency 2 aspirants of the party over the lagging dilemma quaking the division.
The waterbed region of the party has been intertwined in friction that emanated from the aftermath of the post-primary elections for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat to exemplify the party in Ikorodu precinct 2.
Held at the APC secretariat in Ikorodu on Wednesday 13th, 2022, the reconciliation committee led by Chief Asipa Olusanya Kaoli, Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos East Senatorial District and Deputy Apex Leader of APC in Ikorodu, confirmed members of a favourable inquiry of the issues involved and fetch to accept remedies that will assuage all concerned.
According to Asipa Kaoli, disappointed factors have the liberty to seek the party’s forum, but he noted that political competition should not be borrowed to weaken or obliterate the party.
In continuation, Kaoli stated that whenever there is a vacancy in a posture, there is no restriction to the number of competent aspirants in as much that you are a registered member of the party.
“At the end of the day, we must all realise that just one person is going to be picked. This means we must always imbibe the heart of sportsmanship” Asipa Kaoli asserted
APC Lagos State House Of Assembly, Ikorodu constituency 2 flag bearer, Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun known fondly as AMA, conveyed the need for party members to come concurrently for synergy.
AMA, who encouraged party leaders in the Division to motivate councils and wards to produce more in the forthcoming elections by filing more votes, expanded that success is sure for the party if all hands are on deck to mobilise the grassroots.
Mr Aro surmised by imploring party administrators to mediate and support the solicitation of party leaders who are still resisting their pleas for reconciliation.
However, the consensus resolved that the aspirants should put every discrepancies aside and merge to work towards the better good of the party as the general elections draw closer.
The reconciliation committee which also comprises the former head of the local government service commission, Alhaji Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa; Bldr. Sesan Daini, Executive Chairman, Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA played host to former aspirants, Mr Taoreed Hakeem Babajide, former constituency 2 aspirant and chartered accountant, Hon. Fathiu Jimoh Salisu, former Chairman, Ijede LCDA; Hon. Olugbenga Akinwale Oshin, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly amongst others.
All attendees were thereafter exhorted to serve the committee with all relevant manuscripts and inscriptions that will help the committee in its assignment with aspirants submitting their CVs post-engagement.
Otunba Jimoh Olasunkanmi Tijani, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Division, constituted the reconciliation committee for discontented members of the party in Ikorodu to settle problems stemmed from the recently concluded primary elections.
The reconciliation committee is expected to host Ikorodu constituency 1 aspirants on Thursday, 14th of July to resolve similar matters put forward.
