Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions club has partnered with Unique Nelly Academy to further enhance the youth skill enhancement program in Ijede LCDA of Ikorodu.
The synergy which was made conspicuous on the 3rd of August 2022, saw the club sponsoring 20 youths to partake in the free Gele and Make-Up training organised by UNAL at its institution’s premises.
Ikorodu metropolitan Lions club, recognised over the years for its compatible aid in transforming lives across Ikorodu division made her presence felt, joyfully amassed by the institution, furthermore acquainting itself with the academy’s prospects in the process.
Speaking at the training session, the school’s principal, Princess Ezuma Scholastica explained the essence of the program, adding her utmost happiness in beholding the club, entangled to fund the beginners.
“The importance of this program is to empower our youths, most especially the girl-child to become self-productive and useful in the neighbourhood. This pursuit is to get them equipped for greater opportunity and enable them to think outside the box for a profitable living”.
“We are grateful for the unexpected partnership solidified by Ikorodu Metropolitan Lions Club in sponsoring youths to get trained in this program, together we’re making more lives better and great across our communities” She added.
Also Speaking on behalf of the club, the service chairperson, Lion Prince Tunji Oredipe, said the project is youth empowerment based to usher in Lion Lasisi’s leadership (incoming president) for Lion’s service year 2022/2023.
“On our visit to the school, we resolved to support the academy by sponsoring more youths that lack the money to gain access to this important training. In all, we gave out 20 free slots to random interesting youths, handled exclusively by the school”.
“As Lions, we stand to meet the needs of people. That is why we have taken it upon ourselves as a non-governmental organization to partner with UNAL.” Oredipe surmised.
The outgoing president, Lion Babatunde Shobowale, past president, Lion Ahmed Ajayi and other members were also in attendance.
