What almost started like a cold rainy day, turned out to be a perfect weather condition for fitness enthusiasts across Ikorodu division to sweat it all out on the 2nd edition of the Ikorodu fitness festival 2022.
With all roads directed to the Ebute ferry aerodrome, a massive crowd converged at the venue, enlisting for a marathon of fitness routines with a blend of good music, bringing Life and fun to the aerobics extravaganza.
Social media sensation, Ikorodu Bois, Nollywood actor, Mr Yinka Qudri, Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) among other special guest present at the event, labelled the festival a breath of fresh air for youths in the region.
From tug of war to push-ups, waist springs and other routines, generally, the positive reviews only established one indication, the fitness festival has come to stay.
Yewande Odufeko, an actress and dancer applauded the organisers for living up to the hype, citing the massive crowd turning up as a sign of Ikorodu division accepting the fitness concept in totality.

“I’ve been fiddling around, enjoying myself and meeting new people both from outside and inside Ikorodu which is another benefit this event present to us”.
“I wasn’t around during the first edition, but due to the publicity of this 2nd edition, I couldn’t help but make myself available and believe me am so impressed with the organisers” Yewande asserted.
Seun Elesho, a stakeholder in Ikorodu explains, “If you’re fit physically, it means your brain is intact, which has a way of making our society safe, it aid in making the right decision”.
“Aside from the mental alertness, such a program elicits, it is obvious that if notice, until you get here, everywhere, is calm, it indicates that programs like this should get more government support and endorsements to keep our society stable and conducive”.
“You can see that even those we tagged the bad boys are here just to have a good time and behave differently, which means events like this can be used to change the mindset of our youths positively” Seun Elesho added
Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) stated that the turnout of youths is actually what the new era of Ikorodu represents.
“We’re here as stakeholders to throw in our support and help our youths prosper in every area they’ve accepted to thrive in”.
“From the look of things, this shows that we must analyse the numerous areas our youths are gravitating into so we can work together and make them develop better and faster”
“If we don’t support them the best way, we may not get the best out of them because they’re our energy, this program is a sport-oriented course and it’s easy for them to also actualise their potential” Mr Erogbogbo concluded
