The federal lawmaker commissioned a brand new 500KVA transformer which he donated to the Community as part of his leadership empowerment undertaking.

According to Jimi Benson, the brand new 500KVA transformer enlists the roster of over 30 other transformers his administration has donated across different communities in Ikorodu division, expanding that the provision is focused on the growth of the LCDA for the benefit of artisans, residents, business owners and the entire people.
JB continued, “As leaders, we always try to ensure that no matter the situation, our people get the best and live in a suitable and conducive environment that will keep them at ease with their facet of life”.
“My position on development is clear, this transformer, others presented before now and more to come are for our people”.
“Selewu!, I’ve never seen any CDA like this, your consistency, a show of love and gratitude is second to none, that’s why this electrification project is carried out to appreciate your support and steadfastness”, he said.

Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) before receiving the federal lawmaker, Mr Atoyebi Akinpelu, Teachers’ quarter Selewu (exclusive) CDA chairman, said the voyage to earn a new transformer started in 2015 when the community began having electricity challenges.
Atoyebi continued, “The transformer that was serving us was overpopulated by people which makes the light regularly down, that was how the need to obtain a new one came about”.
“In that uncertain state, we reached out to Hon Jimi Benson to come to our aid, he implored us to exercise patience which we did because we understood that as a federal legislator, he has a lot of responsibility and duties to fulfil”.
Mr Atoyebi explained that they got the green light of Jimi Benson’s commitment to the project in 2021 when he sent an inspection team to the community, which saw the provision of a new transformer 3 months after.
“He followed through the installation process, ensuring everything goes smoothly, that is why today, we’re celebrating him for staying true to his word and providing for us the dividend of democracy”.
“Our children can now have access to good power supplies, business owners as well will thrive better, even some residents who intended to relocate has already changed their mind due to this support we have received from JB” Mr Atoyebi added.
