Imota Students’ Union Secondary Schools Sensitisation 2.0 Flagged off on the 19th of September 2022, with two prestigious schools in Imota LCDA; Lagos State Model College, Igbokuta and Ifelodun High School, Oke-Agbo, Imota despite the unwavering heavy downpour of the rain.
The Schools’ Sensitisation program which is the second phase of its kind to be organised by the students union centres on three main focuses; Academic Excellence, Effect of Peer Group and Substantial Use of Social Media.
As the program take its ride this year, it cheered the presence of guest Facilitators in the spheres of the program focus.
Mr Olumide Adeleke Shofowora the Founder, of Onward Youth Educational Symposium (OYES), enlightened the mindset of the students on the topic “Ways to Attain Academic Excellence in the 21st Century”, dishing out ways students can attain academic excellence.
Comr. Ogunbowale Olatayo Bodunrin, President of Imota Students Union, Undergraduate Student of the University of Lagos, spoke at length on the topic “Substantial Use of Social Media for Personal Building and Development”, while on the latter, Miss Titilayo Abaniwonda educated the students on “Effect of Peer Group”.
In conclusion, the session was marshalled with the presence of Mr Michael Eromona, Coordinator, Ikorodu News Network (INN) who enjoined students to ensure all they have been enlightened is used for their personal growth and advancement in life.
Subsequently, the Principal and Teachers of Lagos State Model College, Igbokuta and Ifelodun High School applauded the union and facilitators for the Impacted knowledge as the program was able Moderated by Comr. Amusa Ismail Olamiji, Chairman, Planning Committee.
Award of Service was also presented to Mr Olumide A. Shofowora, Guest Facilitator on Academic Excellence.
