The program focus was presented by Comr. Archibong Precious, Miss. (Amb.) Idris Paulina, and Comr. Adenusi David respectively at Zebra Heights Group of Schools and Commonwealth Scientists Group of Schools.
While each facilitator took turns delivering their respective speeches, Comr. Archibong Precious, Director of Studies, Imota Students’ Union, sets the ball rolling on Academic Excellence.
He explained different ways students can attain academic excellence from having well-defined goals, effective time management, avoiding procrastination, maximizing memory capacity (through the use of flashcards, getting enough rest, having a very nice study space, use of acronyms, studying to the point of recall, and use of diagrams or visual aids), embracing past mistakes and adopting God in their plans.
Subsequently, Miss Paulina Idris, a project officer at Atlas Initiative, discussed The Effects of Peer groups.
Emphatic about associations, she admonished each student to be a filter of their friendships by keeping the filtrate as friends and discarding residue away as possible.
Comr. Adenusi David Olamide handled the last topic on the Substantial Use of Social Media.
Laying emphasis on not consuming erotic content on the Media, but rather, making or getting job opportunities on the net, he highlighted the need for students to put more interest in getting role models in the spheres of one’s educational pursuits, searching for solutions to assignments, and getting collaborations with people around the world for building wholesome projects were cogent points indubitably discussed by the facilitator.
In all, the prolific sessions handled by each facilitator attracted genuine credit to the Union.
