Market men and women, parks and garage managers, vulcaniser association, Carpenters and union of tailors converged at the palace of the sekumade of Ipakodo to observe Ipakodo Citizens’ and Community day.
Spotlighting day 3 of the ongoing maiden edition of Ipakodo day celebrations, envoys from the artisan sector, CDAs/CDCs, Arewa & Ndi-Igbo community, made their presence felt on a day set aside to host business stakeholders in the waterbed region of Ikorodu west LCDA.
Displaying locally made food products like yams, rice, plantains, vegetables and others, the day gave mediums to Ipakodo industry proprietors and market practitioners to be celebrated, socialising with His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Aremu Shotonwa as paramount host.
Each unit represented paid homage to the traditional ruler as the atmosphere was replenished with a mix of music and product exhibition.
Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East senatorial district, was represented by his business resource personnel, who intimated the market association of an ongoing 100 million rolling loan plan with a 6% interest rate offered by the senator to support small-scale business owners in Ikorodu.
Members of Ilera-Eko designated to Ikorodu axis, also made their existence understood, engaging the general public to enlist themselves in affordable healthcare packages offered by the initiative.
Prince Olasunkanmi Shotonwa, Chairman, of Ipakodo development association, in his brief remark, sincerely thanked every business-oriented personality for availing themselves to be a part of the annual celebration, mentioning the essence of including Ipakodo Citizens’ and Community day as part of the festival’s routine.
“This day is set aside for business owners to wine and dine, socialise and network themselves to further expand their business contacts” Prince Olasunkanmi asserted.
His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Bashiru Aremu Shotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo, chaperoned by his Yeye, praised residents for keying into the market get-together idea, further praying for their businesses to thrive more in the land for an adequate economic boom.
By the side of His Royal Majesty were; High Chief Oludayo Shotomiwa, Olisa Of Ipakodo, Chief Abdul Lateef Animashaun, Odofin of Ipakodo, Chief Olutayo Olutomiwa etc.
