In the early hours of Monday the 17th of October 2022, members of Ikorodu peculiar lions club were seen around the Sabo axis in Ikorodu.
Led by the club president, Lion Akinosho David, the club wasted no time engaging freelance job-seeking individuals with breakfast to fast-track their daily activities.
Feeding the hungry is a special scheme committed by lions club to lessen the level of starvation around the community, by delivering welfare packages for inhabitants.
It is carefully implemented after voluntary members of the club carry out a need assessment around the specific vicinity, considering the area fit to effect the undertaking solely as an aid to humanity.
Stipulated in line with the club’s annual program, the endeavour squarely targets the less privileged individuals, putting hope and joy in their countenance.
Speaking to the club’s project coordinator, Lion Kayode Aluko, Ikorodu News Network (INN) gathered that the newly established club arranged to coalesce at a spot where job seekers always hang out.
Lion Aluko continued, “A lot of people you see going to work, move without anything in their stomach, believing that whatever they realise during the day would be used to feed themselves, that’s why we came out this early to cater to them”.
“My personal belief is that the Government cannot do it all alone, whatever we can do as a people to touch lives in our near environment should be cultivated as a habit for change”.
“We know that executing a project like this from our widow’s mite would motivate others who can do the same thing to be lifted for emulation reasons”.
Lion Aluko asserted that the course is done openly to fascinate those who have the kind-hearted compassion of giving to come and join the newly created lions club.
